Haunted
Toji cannot move on, until he realized too late.
Warnings: Angst, slightest fluff (reader and baby 'gumi moment)
You were just a girl, standing in front of a man, asking him to love you.
How hard was that for him? Yes, he wasn’t good with his words but he wasn’t good at anything else either. He was just there.
Maybe because the woman he truly loved—he was still mourning over her. His sad eyes every time he watched an old couple dance together, wishing he had been doing that but with her. The cute babies babble with their mothers as Megumi babbles with his father, how he wished his wife was still here instead of you. He never said it, but that’s what it felt like.
And perhaps that's what it was.
Sometimes he curses himself out when he accidentally calls you his wife's name. During intimate times only. You tried—trying to keep the emotions in as if it wasn’t breaking every part of you, was the hardest part. “Look he’s walking...” You smiled at the dark haired baby who was walking towards you. Toji smiled, making sure he’d record every second of it; deep down he wished his wife was the one the baby was walking towards instead of you.
And it was wrong—so wrong.
“This relationship, I’m with you but Toji—Toji this is the loneliest I’ve ever felt.” You whispered while he ate his leftovers, his brows still furrowed from the argument occurring earlier. Having Toji work from 9–5 wasn’t the best but good thing he had you, helping him out with so much. Picking up groceries, picking up his lovely son—until you mentioned that one of his teachers mistaken you as his biological mother. That right there was enough to make Toji angry for weeks at least.
But not this time.
He stopped chewing on his food after you spoke, waiting for more of an explanation. Which you figured he needed, “I don’t think you’re in love with me–”
“I like you [name], a lot.” He cleared his throat. He leaned back on his chair as his arms crossed waiting for you to continue the sentence he interrupted.
Right, he liked you a lot. These three rough years you’ve been dating Toji—that particular l word was never uttered once, not even if he was drunk, or having a special moment with you. You huffed trying to find the right words for Toji to understand. That was until little Megumi started crying from his room. “I’ll try to put him back to sleep, finish eating.” He watched as your fragile little body sulked its way to Megumi’s room.
He knew this was gonna happen, he knew you were bound to leave him sooner or later.
You smiled as you opened the door to see the little Megumi standing on top of his little bed. His hands wiping his tears as he ran towards you, his arms now wrapping around your legs. “Sleep with mama and papa.” He cried out as you leaned down to pick up the little boy. “[name] and papa, not mama okay?” You corrected him, if Toji were to find out that he had been calling you that, then that argument would’ve climaxed.
The little boy nodded, his tears now gone as you swayed him around. “Sleep with you.” He mumbled, leaning his head on your shoulder as he played with a strand of your hair. “Just for tonight.” You whispered, watching Megumi pick up his head and smile. Content with your answer.
Toji’s heart could just swell at the sight. You treated his son as if he was your own and nothing looked so much better right now, except for the fact that he wished it was his wife.
Megumi was now soundly sleeping between you and Toji, “I don’t think I can do this anymore.” His eyes shut tightly hearing those piercing words leave your mouth. It hurt when his wife left him, but this hurt was different—different because he knew it was coming yet he didn’t want to do anything about it.
“I’m sorry—”
“You don’t need to be the one apologizing.” He watched your soft gaze stare at completely nothing. He was confused, this was his fault. He never treated you how you needed deserved to be treated. “It was my fault for throwing myself at a man who simply was not ready.”
The next morning was silent—baby ‘gumi was confused at the saddened look on your face. Constantly walking up to you asking if you were okay. He was still just a baby, yet he read the room so well. “I’m sure we can work this out—” Toji now sitting next to you on the couch, some cartoon playing in the back as Megumi’s little head sat on your lap. “You’re not ready, Toji.” You nodded, eyes still glued on the tv as if it was meant for you and not the little Megumi.
“And how are you so sure—”
“Tell me you love me then.” Your eyes are now fixed on Toji’s. It was hard, he felt as if his mouth had been glued shut. You sigh, bringing your gaze back to the tv, “I love you—but it’s hard when it’s one sided Toji.”
It hurt much more, seeing you drive away as the clueless Megumi waved you out. Poor thing thinks you’re simply going to the store. The house that once felt like home was so dull now. Toji sat little ‘gumi down on the couch.
His constant, “mama?” or “[name]?” while he kept his gaze on the door every so often. Nothing prepared Toji for this. Megumi cried that he wanted to sleep with his mama and papa, his heart swelled knowing that he had been talking about you.
You were gone, just like his wife. But it hurt—it hurt so much more knowing that you’re alive trying your best to…move on. He stayed up late that same night, stumbling upon a video from two years ago. When Megumi first learned how to walk. You and Toji had just started dating but the look of happiness plastered your face as you watched the little baby walking.
That was one thing Toji never forgot about, how much you loved kids. Telling him how once you had kids of your own you would finally be able to live in peace. How he heard of it less and less as the years went on, he wonders if you still think that.

Singing a New Tune
Written for Occam's 2000 Follower Writing Challenge
“Babe, I love you.”
Jared smiled down at Julie, as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply. He had to imagine his girlfriend dreamed of this moment. A romantic kiss at a Tiffany Stabina concert as the star finished out her set with one of Julie’s favorite songs. A slow romantic song- one that Jared knew all too well from frequent replays in the car.
“Anything for you babe.” He replied, holding her closely in his muscular arms, “I love you too.”
This certainly wasn’t his kind of music. And he didn’t understand the cult-like devotion to Tiffany. But seeing Julie this happy? Worth it. Still, he imagined the other straight dudes here were thinking similarly. In fact, he and the guy next to him shared several looks throughout the night. A silent comradery acknowledging they’d rather be elsewhere. And if they had been elsewhere, Jared would’ve asked the guy for his arm day routine.
“Alright babe, we ought to head out before...”
“To all my fans, I love you!” Tiffany called out, their cheers drowning Jared’s words, “You’ve all been with me from the beginning, and I am so grateful.” She placed a hand over her heart, “But you all know I’ve been criticized.” The fans all booed, “And they’ve come after you too.”
“A bit dramatic.” Jared chuckled, earning a glare from Julie.
“You wouldn’t get it.” She replied, “They go after he for everything.” The jock nodded, not wanting to risk ruining their perfect night, “But when she sings, it’s like she’s speaking directly to you. People just don’t get it.” Jared nodded. There were some things just not worth it.
“I wasn’t going to do this, but I have a new song for you all this evening!” The crowd erupted in screams and applause. Jared groaned, “They say I’m pandering? Then I’ll pander.” She continued, and the crowd got louder.
Jared knew there would be no way of getting Julie to leave now. And he silently dreaded the hours they’d be stuck in traffic. But as the song started and Tiffany’s words echoed through the stadium, his thoughts slowed.
“They say I only cater to a few.”
Jared felt lightheaded, the sound of the crowd growing distant.
“The gays and the girls, oh boo hoo.”
“Julie?” He whispered, but she didn’t respond, “Julie, please...” He felt sick. The world was spinning, everything becoming black, “Fuck, fuck, fuck...” He whispered. He couldn’t move. Was he dying? Was this it?
“But I won’t back down, I won’t apologize.” Jared looked up and saw her. Tiffany Stabina. Standing in front of him, “For making them feel alive.” She strutted towards the helpless jock.
“What...? How is this...?”
“I see you dancing in the dark, feeling completely torn apart.” She sang.
Jared yelped as he felt a cool breeze caress him. And to his horror, he realized he was nude. Butt naked in front of Tiffany Stabina no less. She grinned and approached him, circling his nude figure and wrapping her arms around him.
“Embrace your uniqueness, don’t hide.”
Jared gasped as she placed pressure on his shoulders. He felt the floor getting closer as he lost inch after inch of height. He now stood at eye level with the 5’6” popstar.
“Wait? What did you do to me?” He yelped.
“Now let my music take you for a ride.”
She ran a hand along his muscular arms. Her very touch sent a wave of pleasure straight to his dick, and he blushed as all 10 inches stood at attention. Tiffany smirked, but continued rubbing his biceps and triceps. Her sensual touch was intoxicated, and Jared watched helplessly as his proud muscles started to diminish. His biceps atrophied, followed quickly by his triceps. His slender arms giving off the appearance they hadn’t seen a gym in years. He tried to cry out, but Tiffany placed a finger to his lips, effectively silencing him. He could only watch as her hands roamed his impressive pecs. He had always been proud of his pecs, and he loved when Julie rested her head on his chest. But now, he could only watch as they flattened away.
“Wait...” He was able to force out. But Tiffany was relentless, and her hands roamed down his abs.
He shed a few tears as his abs vanished, leaving him with a flat, slender tummy. There was no way this could be happening. It had to be some type of acid trip or something. Jared kept trying to reassure himself, even as she moved to his legs and quickly destroyed his muscular thighs and calves, leaving his legs slender and dainty. His feet followed, and quickly diminished from size 13s to 9.5s in mere seconds.
“My music is my contagion, unapologetic. Now we’re gonna collide.” Tiffany continued, this time wrapping her hands around his cock, “My fans are my tribe, I won’t divide.”
Jared felt like the wind was knocked out of him from both the pain and pleasure from her touch. And he watched as she shrunk his proud member. The young jock always knew he was well endowed. And he knew how to use it too. But as he watched his dick shrink from its proud ten inches to a mere 3 inches hard, he felt his confidence diminish.
“We’ll rise together, side by side.”
Her hands made their way to his flat ass. He tried to crane his neck to see what she was about to do. But he didn’t need to see. He could immediately feel his ass expand in her hands, filling them with firm, yet jiggly fat and muscle. He let out a moan as she caressed his basketball-sized ass cheeks, and he nearly came when she gave one a firm slap.
“Pl-please stop...” He begged as she placed a hand over his neck, “You can't do thith...” His voice cracked and he winced, “What’th happening to my voithe? Why do I thound like thith?” He begged, his voice cracking, “No, thith doethn't thound right.” His voice settled a few octaves higher, his masculine tone now lost forever.
“So bring on the hate, let the critics rage. We’ll keep on dancing, it’s time to turn the page.”
As she continued to caress his now slender body, and grind against him, he felt off. His dick softened, as her physicality became less appealing to him. Her bouncing boobs and thick lips didn’t seem to do it for him. Even her touch was losing its pleasure. And he realized in terror what was occurring.
“No, not thith!” He begged, “Come on, come, think of thomething.” He remembered the BJ Julie gave him last night, and even the lesbian porn he watched a few days ago. But his measly member stayed soft, “No... pleathe...”
He felt Tiffany’s hand on his head. His pleading eyes met hers, and he knew he’d find no mercy. His hair restyled itself, and he felt a piercing pain in his left earlobe, which suddenly adourned a diamond stud. But her touch was doing far more than making a few style alterations. In his mind, his memories were shifting. Showering after football practice? Changing in the locker room after a lifting session with his bros? Watching football with his family?
“Oh god...” He moaned, as his small dick hardened and his ass throbbed with need.
He didn’t play football. He got fucked by the quarterback in the shower after a game. He wasn’t lifting at the gym. He was doing cardio and sucking off the gym bros between their sets. He didn’t watch sports like football. He just sat and scrolled on his phone, reading up on the latest Tiffany Stabina gossip and scrolling his socials. And as his new reality cemented itself, Jared’s eyes lost their intelligent spark and became half-lidded, his brain filling with celebrity gossip and how to please guys.
“This contagion’s here to stay, and we’ll celebrate it every day.”
She kissed him on the cheek. And with that, Jared was back. The cheers of the crowd filling his ears, as Tiffany thanked her fans and left the stage. Jared smiled.
“Oh my god! That wath tho amathing!” He cheered, “Tiffany! I love you!” He yelled, “It wath like Tiffany thpoke to me.”
“You felt that way too?” Jared turned and came face to face with a man of similar build. Albeit with slightly bigger arms, “Tiffany, like, totally thpeakth for uth.” He grinned as Jared felt up his arms.
“Wait!” A voice called out behind him, “Did you see the guy I came here with?” Julie asked, looking around desperately, “I swear, he was right here. I...”
“Thorry thithter, I hope you find him!” Jared replied, turning his attention back to the guy.
“Tho weird, thome poor girl athked me about her boyfriend too.” The man replied, “Probably got drunk and left to watch football.”
“OMG tho lame.” Jared laughed. The two smiled at one another, “Tho, like...”
“Wanna go back to my place? I have her latetht album.” The man winked, and Jared shuddered as his ass throbbed with need.
“That thounds delightful.” Jared replied, pulling the man in closer, his smile widening as the man squeezed his ass, “Oh! But like firtht I totally need a thelfie! I want everyone to know I thupport Tiffany and Tiffany thupports me!” He cheered, capturing their kiss on camera and posting it to his socials.
Later that night, Jared and his lover explored one another’s new bodies. Jared gasping at the size of his lover’s cock, moaning as he felt a firm hand squeeze his ass. His moans would continue to fill the room that night. With each thrust of his new lover’s dick, Jared was in heaven. Unaware of his former life or the horror it would bring his former self to see him like this. Just another horny slut- another gay twink dedicated to Tiffany Stabina.

⚘. ANYTHING
ex!ellie x reader
summary: it’s been years since you broke up with ellie. the last time you saw her was at graduation. you’ve completely moved on and you’re going on dates here and there with different women. but after running into ellie, you’re feeling conflicted as old feelings start resurfacing.
note: a continuation of LADWABAYD, just set many years later. i know i said I didn’t want to add more because i wanted to leave it up to interpretation. buuuut… i felt like adding more. listen to anything by adrianne lenker
warnings: slightly angsty, fingering (r!receiving), thigh riding sorta
You took a sip of your coffee as your date, Sarah, was showing you pictures of her dogs. She kept having to set the phone down to push her short, reddish brown hair out of her face. “Sorry,” she apologized once again. “I’m not used to having it so short.”
You hummed a response and smiled at her. “Don’t be sorry.”
“Do you like it by the way? You haven’t said anything about it.”
“Well, it definitely caught me by surprise but I think it looks nice.”
“Thanks,” she said as her cheeks slowly turned pink. “I remembered on our last date that you said you always liked short hair.”
“Is that why you cut it?” you asked.
“Yeah, is… that okay?”
“I mean, do you like it?”
She shrugged. “It’s different but I do like it, I think.”
“That’s all that matters, then.”
You smiled once again and began to drown her voice out as she picked her phone back up to show you more pictures of her dogs. How strange, you thought, this is only your third date with her and already she’s changing herself for you. You almost felt bad, considering you decided this was the last date you’d go on with her. You already knew you didn’t want to see her again but plans were already made. You would’ve felt crappy calling it off or standing her up. Your plan was to act as disinterested as possible, fake a concerning text from Dina (which was scheduled to be sent any minute now), then tell her tomorrow you’d think it’d be best due to the “circumstances” that you stop seeing her. Sure, it was evil, but you knew you weren’t a match for her. You were certain there was someone else out there who’d love to see the same photos of her dogs and hear about how her ex boyfriend sucked.
Suddenly, your phone dinged, and you fought back a sigh of relief. You looked at your phone and gasped at the stupid meme Dina sent you.
“What is it?” asked Sarah.
“Dina… she… just texted me and um… fuck, I’m so sorry. Sarah, I have to go,” you blurted out as you stood up and yanked your purse from the back of the chair.
“Oh no! Is she okay?”
“I’m not sure, I’m about to go find out.”
“Okay, sure. I’ll text you later to check in on you.”
“Thank you. Sorry, Sarah. Bye!”
You rushed out before she could say anything else, ignoring the sick feeling that settled in your stomach. You were certain that there was an easier way to “break up” with her, but she was too nice. You got in your car and sped off, slowing down once the cafe was out of view. You couldn’t wait to get home, shower, and spend the rest of the day lounging around doing a whole lot of nothing. But first, you wanted to stop by the gas station to get a few snacks.
-
You pulled up to the gas station and hopped out, walking inside and greeting the cashier. As you wandered towards the aisles, a familiar figure caught your eye. You turned to look and saw a girl looking at the drinks. You stood there, watching her as your heart sped up. There was no way it was who you thought it was. You were obviously confusing her for her and it’s really some stranger. She opened one of the fridges and grabbed her favorite drink, and once you caught a glimpse of her tattoo, it was already too late to leave. She had turned around and made eye contact with you. You felt your heart sink as your breathing slowed to a stop. “Ellie,” you whispered.
“H-hey,” she breathed out. She slowly stepped towards you and you did the same until the gap between the two of you was closed. “Wow, I wasn’t expecting to see you here.”
“Me neither.”
Ellie’s eyes traveled down to your lips, then down to your clothes then back up. “You dressed up to go to the gas station?” she joked. You chuckled a little bit and studied her outfit, which was sweatpants and a grey shirt.
“I see you did the same,” you shot back.
“Pft, yeah.”
The both of you stood there silently, awkwardly smiling at each other and waiting for someone to speak up.
“So… how have you been?”
“I’ve been okay. Just… working, you know. How about you, Ellie?”
“Same,” she responded. “Dina told me you work in that building by that um… one restaurant we always used to go to.”
“Yeah, I do.”
“You like working there?”
“Mhm. It’s nice, clean, and the pay is good,” you said.
“Great, I’m glad.”
The pain in your chest was almost becoming unbearable. She looked beautiful, even in her worn out clothes, and looking in her eyes made you want to cry. It had been awhile since you’ve felt this familiar pain. In a weird way, you almost missed it. But you’ve forgotten how to keep it inside. You felt tears threaten to spill and fall down your cheeks. You blinked them away and took a deep breath.
“I should let you go,” you mumbled. “It, um, it was really nice seeing you, Ellie.”
“It was nice seeing you too.”
She said goodbye and walked past you. Her scent filled your nose and you shut your eyes, taking it in as you fought hard to not cry. You walked into the aisle and picked up a bag of powdered donuts and headed towards the counter as she walked out. You watched Ellie through the glass window, smiling to yourself when she glanced back at you. She got in her car and drove away.
-
You couldn’t sleep. Ever since you saw Ellie a few days ago, you couldn’t stop thinking about her and it kept you up. You glanced at your phone and sighed. It was two a.m. and you had to go to work at six. You decided you were gonna call off. You needed an extra day to relax and try to rid your thoughts of Ellie. That day, you called Dina sobbing. Dina came over and comforted you and assured you that your pain was valid. She also filled you in on everything going on in Ellie’s life. She was working just outside of town and spent her days off writing songs or visiting Joel at his farm. She told you that Ellie had texted her about you two running into each other, and that she decided to spend a few days at Joel’s to clear her head. “She’s grown a lot,” Dina’s words rang through your head. “If you want to contact her, it’s okay.”
You typed in her number, shocked that you still had it memorized, and sent a quick text.
Hey, is this Ellie?
You set your phone down with a sigh. You almost felt stupid for texting her, especially since it was almost the middle of the night. Now you for sure won’t get any sleep because you were too nervous waiting for a response and she definitely had to be asleep already. You shut your eyes anyway, trying to force yourself to get drowsy when suddenly your phone dinged. You reached over and picked it up, your heart fluttering when you saw the text.
Hey you
I’m sorry for texting you so late…
Don’t be sorry, you know I don’t mind
I know I know
So what’s up?
Honestly nothing
I really just wanted to talk to you
Me too:)
You smiled. As you were typing a response, your phone rang. It was Ellie. You hesitated before answering and slowly brought it to your ear. “Hello,” you said, although it sounded more like a question.
“Sorry, I just wanted to hear your voice.”
Once again you could feel your heart fluttering as your cheeks burned. “Don’t be sorry, Ellie. I… wanted to hear your voice too.”
Ellie breathed out in relief and chuckled. “Can’t sleep?”
“No. I’m guessing you can’t either?”
“Nope, I’m wide awake.”
You giggled and rolled over on your side, putting the phone on speaker and placing it on the pillow next to you.
“I haven’t stopped thinking about you,” said Ellie in a low voice.
“Me neither.”
“Ever since I saw you, I’ve been thinking about everything that happened in the end.”
“Ellie,” you almost whined. “Let’s not… talk about that. Over the phone, I mean.”
“Yeah, you’re right… we should talk about it in person,” agreed Ellie.
You bit your lip as you thought about what to say. Would it be too weird to invite her over now, in the middle of the night? Or would that come off as desperate? Before you could say anything, Ellie spoke up. “If you want, I could come over so we can talk about it.”
“Y-Yeah, yeah that’s fine. I’ll text you my address.”
“Sounds good. I’ll see you in a bit, then. Bye.”
“Bye, Ellie.”
After she hung up the phone, you sent her your address.
You’re pretty close. I’m at Joel’s rn and I have to put clothes on. Be there in about 20 mins
You quickly hopped out of bed and opened up your drawer, grabbing a pair of pajama pants and shoving them on. You headed into your bathroom and turned the light on. You brushed your fingers through your hair until it looked decent. You scoffed at the sight of bags under your eyes. Oh well, you thought. It’s not like Ellie would care. You left the bathroom and checked yourself out in the full body mirror, pulling down on your tank top a bit while you turned slightly to make sure there were no stains on your pajama pants. You walked out your room and sat down on the couch, your eyes watching the door intently. You couldn’t believe this was happening. You didn’t think you and Ellie would talk about the past so soon, let alone hang out. You hoped you could stay strong and not embarrass yourself in front of her. You really were over it and you didn’t know what else could be said about everything. But deep down you knew you never got over her. You haven’t been in a relationship since, you always found an excuse to break it off with a girl you were seeing, and you definitely had a type. They all had at least one similar feature of Ellie, whether it was freckles, their hair length, eyes, etc. You wondered if she did the same as you.
A knock at the door made you flinch and ripped you out of your thoughts. You got up and unlocked the door, slowly opening it to see Ellie in an old band shirt and some jeans.
“Ellie,” you greeted. “Come in.”
“Hey, sorry if I took too long. Couldn’t find a clean shirt. Borrowed one of Joel’s.”
“It’s fine, you aren’t late. How’s Joel doing?”
You shut the door behind Ellie, following her as she made her way to the couch. She didn’t sit and stood there, looking around at all the decorations you had up. “He’s good. All he does is tend to his farm and watch westerns all day,” she said with a chuckle.
“Ah, so the same thing he’s been doing for the past ten years?”
“Pretty much.”
Ellie sat down on the couch and you did the same, sitting on the other end. “And how are you?”
“The same, how about you?”
“Also the same,” you replied.
“Good.”
You could hear your heart beating in your chest. For a second, you felt embarrassed as if Ellie could hear it too.
“Ever since I saw you the other day, I’ve actually been… I don’t know. I feel strange.”
“How so?” you asked.
“Haven’t been able to stop thinking about you, about… us,” she shook her head and leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees. “About how I fucked up,” she muttered.
“Yeah…”
“I never took accountability for the shit I did. I was an idiot for cheating on you with Lila.”
“Ellie… it’s okay.”
“No, it’s not. It wasn’t fair to you and I never got to truly say how sorry I was. I want us to have a fresh start if we’re back in each other’s lives again.”
“I appreciate it, Ellie. And I forgive you. Hell, I forgave you years ago.”
“I never forgave myself,” she whispered. “You’ve been on my mind since the day you left my dorm for the last time.”
You furrowed your brows and crossed your arms over your chest, leaning back into the cushions as you focused on Ellie and her words.
“I’m not telling you this because I want you to feel sorry but… just to fill you in on what has happened since everything. I hated myself for a long time. I don’t think I stopped hating myself until a year after graduation. Even then, I didn’t feel worthy enough of anything. I’ve tried going on a few dates but it wasn’t the same. So I gave up on all that. I chose to work on myself instead. Sure, there were a few times I was interested in seeing a girl but I couldn’t do it. It wasn’t…” she trailed off, her eyes wandering away from you and down to the floor.
“I’ve tried going on dates too,” you mumbled. “Actually, the other day… I was on one and made Dina text me so I could get out of it. I don’t go on many dates but I do it every time. Whether I’m interested or not, I come up with an excuse to not be with them. I know it’s horrible. I just can’t do it.”
“Is it because of me?” questioned Ellie. You sent her a sad smile and shrugged.
“It was at first. I mean, it still is but for different reasons. They aren’t you.”
“Remember when I told you that I would never stop trying to make things right?”
You nodded.
“I want you to know, I only stopped because I… love you and knew you didn’t want me anymore. I stopped out of respect for you.”
You were silent. You allowed Ellie’s confession to hang in the air and it felt as if it was surrounding you, ready to swallow you whole. You took a deep, shaky breath and let it out slowly. You cleared your throat in hopes the tightness would go away but it didn't. “I've always wanted you, Ellie,” you uttered, your voice cracking when you said her name. “Even when you cheated on me. All I ever wanted was you. It wasn't just the act of you cheating that made me leave, but also I believed I wasn't enough and… I loved you and respected you enough to let you go. Find someone else who could fill everything I left empty.”
You looked up at Ellie as a tear slid down her cheek. She sniffled and brushed it away quickly, sitting up straight and scooting closer to you. You did the same until your knee barely brushed hers.
“You were always enough for me,” said Ellie. “I was a fucking idiot. I'm sorry I made you feel like you weren't enough. You always were enough.”
“Fuck,” you breathed. “I… wasn't expecting the conversation to go like this.”
“I'm sorry.”
“Don't, Ellie. It's fine. We needed this.”
You raised your head to meet her gaze and immediately felt calm. She looked so beautiful with her tear filled eyes and her pouty lips. How was it that so much time had passed and yet you still love her as much as you did before, despite everything? You believed her apology, you believed Dina’s words that vouched for her, and you started to believe one day, the two of you could try again. It was too soon. She was a stranger to you now and you were a stranger to her. And yet, you couldn't stop yourself from leaning forward just to steal a kiss.
Her lips met yours finally, the two of you breathing in harshly at the contact. It was gentle at first, almost hesitant, until she placed her hand on your cheek. You deepened the kiss by wrapping your arms around her neck and pulling her closer. Without thinking, you lifted yourself up and over her thighs to sit in her lap. Her hands found themselves at your waist, gripping tightly as if Ellie was scared you'd pull away and never kiss her again. She picked you up and began to walk blindly until your back touched the wall. She pulled away for a brief second to pull your tank top over your head. You lifted your arms to help her remove it and watched her throw it behind her. Ellie let out a soft moan at the sight of your breasts.
“You’re so beautiful,” she whispered. Her hands cupped your tits as her lips peppered kisses down your neck. You let out a whine, running your fingers through her hair and tugging the strands. She staggered away from the wall and glanced through the nearest door frame to make sure it was your room. As soon as she saw your bed, she carried you inside and laid you down on the mattress. You stared up at her in awe as she yanked her shirt up over her head, unbuckling her jeans and pulling it down along with her panties. You quickly shoved your pajama pants off and threw it to the side. She crawled on top of you, stopping every few seconds to plant kisses along your exposed skin. Your breath grew shallow as her fingers slowly crept up towards your pussy. She used her pointer finger to gently apply pressure to your clit, grinning when your body jolted from the feeling.
“I missed this, baby,” she cooed. “Did you miss me?”
“Mhm,” you whimpered.
Ellie finally stuck a finger inside you. You moaned out her name and gripped the sheets. “E-Ellie,” you whined. “Fuck, I missed you!”
“I know, sweetheart.”
She replaced her finger with her middle and third and brought herself up so she was hovering over you face to face. Ellie kept a steady, painfully slow pace, carefully watching your face twist in pleasure. She didn't want to miss anything, afraid this would be the last time she got to make you feel good, and wanted to make it last as long as possible. She kissed you again, this time slipping her tongue between your lips and circling it around yours. As the kiss grew more passionate, the speed of her fingers increased. Your moans filled her mouth as her thumb brushed against your clit, her fingers curling up inside you and hitting your g spot. It had been too long since you had sex with her and since you did anything to yourself. You could already feel pressure building up in your lower stomach. You pulled away from the kiss and began speaking frantically.
“Wait, wait, wait, Ellie, I-I’m close and I-I don't wanna cum yet,” you begged. Ellie removed her fingers from inside you and brought them to her lips, sucking them off and moaning at the taste of you.
“My sweet girl,” Ellie whispered.
“Ellie…”
Ellie placed a knee against your cunt and used her hand to guide your hips up and down. “You like that, baby? Think you'll last longer with this?”
“Mhm,” you responded.
“Good… just like that, honey. Don't stop.”
She reached down to lift your leg up so she could grind herself onto your thigh. She breathed in harshly at the contact, letting out a soft groan and squeezing her eyes shut. “F-Fuck,” she hissed.
Within minutes, both of you had sped up the movement of your hips. The room was filled with obscene noises spilling out from both you and Ellie’s lips. You tried your best to remain eye contact with Ellie, the intimate act only making you get wetter.
“E-Ellie,” you moaned. “I… I love you, y’know th-that?”
“I know,” she breathed. “I love you t-too.”
Ellie’s breath became jagged as she grew closer. You could feel once again in the pit of your stomach that you were close too. The movement of your hips became sloppy from desperation. All you could focus on was Ellie and your need to cum. Your whining had raised in volume as the feeling got stronger. Within seconds, both you and Ellie’s bodies began to convulse as an orgasm took both of you over. Ellie buried her face in your neck, your nails digging into her shoulders. Once it was over, Ellie collapsed onto you and rested her head onto your chest.
You fought to catch your breath as you stared off into space, shocked that this had happened. You never thought you'd see her or fuck her again. But for the first time in years, you genuinely felt happy and whole. You knew you couldn't give Ellie up but you also knew the two of you had to refrain from doing this again. You had to get to know her all over again, as did Ellie with you. You were alright with that, partially scared, but it was worth it. But that was a conversation for another time. Anything, as long as it meant having Ellie back in your life.

ᯓᡣ𐭩
but you've been diggin' up the truth
haven't slept in like four nights now
blame it on substance abuse
out in the deep end, i'm swimmin', i'm swimmin' again
YOU WOKE up startled with the loud bang coming from somewhere inside your apartment, your whole body jumping and your heart starting to race inside your chest.
Now, almost fully awake, you stare at the clock sitting on your bedside table, reading the time. 4:13 a.m., and when you pat the other side of the bed, where your boyfriend of two years should be laying, you frown as you find it empty and lukewarm to the touch.
“Connor?” You whisper, scared to wake him up unnecessarily, even if you knew he wasn’t lying with you in bed. Again.
You get up, the fabric of his old Blackhawks sweater heating up your skin, as you put on your slippers and leave the bedroom, noticing traces of Connor’s absence here and there— his slippers aren’t by his side of the bed, his duffel bag isn’t on the hallway like it usually is, his water bottle isn’t on the couch like he had left it last night, when you both went no sleep at one in the morning.
So that’s why you don’t understand what he’s doing by the front door, ready to leave, even if he had only slept for three hours.
“Connor?” You call again, watching as his blue eyes look at you, surprise and guilt decorating his expression like a famous painting hanging on the Louvre’s wall. “What are you doing?”
Your voice is still soft, and despite the scare, your eyes can barely stay open. You’re tired, tonight was the first night you had allowed yourself to sleep freely since now you were done with your exams. And you were happy because you managed to convince Connor to come home earlier, at eleven instead of midnight, just so you could spend some time together, like you used to do when you started dating.
“Liv, hey,” he whispers, adjusting his bag on his shoulder. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you up.”
That’s when you realize what he’s doing. The bag, the stick on his hand, the outfit. He’s—
“Are you serious right now?” You take a deep breath, trying to maintain your composure. “You’re going to the rink? At four in the morning?”
“Baby, you know I need to,” he tries to sound convincing and if it wasn’t for the fact that this is probably the hundredth time he’s done this, you would’ve actually believed him. “We have a game coming up and—”
“Yes, I am well aware of that, Connor. But you went to sleep at one. Two nights ago, you also went to sleep at one and woke up at five. And the night before, and the night before that too.”
You don’t try to hide your feelings anymore. You want him to know you’re upset, and you want him to know that this, whatever the hell he’s doing, isn’t okay.
“I know, baby, but you know I have to keep practicing so I can help the guys.” He’s now facing you, his body visibly tense.
“That doesn’t even make sense, Connor, what the hell. There are other twenty fucking people in your team, you’re not the only player there. It’s not your responsibility only!” You cover your face with your hands, truly upset.
“Liv,” he calls your name, and it hurts to even hear it, because his voice is so full of guilt and shame. It makes you feel sick. “You’re not being reasonable right now. This is the NHL. You know how hard I’ve worked for this. There are people counting on me.”
“And I’m not one of them?” You whisper, making eye contact again, only to realize you’re not strong enough to have this conversation at four in the morning.
“Liv—”
“It’s fine, Connor. Go to practice.” You sigh, making your way back to the bedroom, praying that he doesn’t notice the tears running down your cheeks.
ᯓᡣ𐭩
you said, "take it easy, otherwise i'm leaving
yeah, i don't wanna stay and watch you die",
ᯓᡣ𐭩
CONNOR HAD an injury.
His jaw had been fractured, and he had to go to surgery to fix it. You were in the arena watching the game with Connor’s sister when it happened, and you had never been so scared.
You know Hockey is about hitting people as much as it is about playing and winning, but you won’t lie and say your heart doesn’t hurt inside your chest whenever you see Connor getting hurt on the ice.
And you aren’t dumb. You know that some players will purposefully hurt him just because he’s good. And even if people aren’t one hundred percent sure that that is what happened that night, you still remember the terrible feeling of losing when you were in the ambulance with Connor to the hospital, trying your hardest not to cry in front of anyone because you know what they would say.
She’s not tough enough to date a NHL player.
But you believed yourself to be tough. The only problem with all of this is that you knew Bedard would never take great care of himself, meaning that you’d have to be with him twenty-four-seven, which wouldn’t be a problem, if only he accepted your help.
Now, four weeks after the surgery, you’re inside the United Center, the Blackhawks arena in Chicago, stomping your feet as you walk towards the rink, the sound of your steps being muffled by Connor’s constant skating.
“Connor.”
You have to call him a few times so that he can finally get out of his head and look at you; once again, those blameworthy eyes looking down at you, as he skates closer to the benches where you were standing.
“Liv.”
“What do you think you’re doing, Connor?” You snap. “You’re supposed to be resting. You’re definitely not supposed to be on the ice.”
“I know, but my jaw is just fine. It doesn’t even hurt anymore.” He removes his helmet, running his gloved hand through his hair.
“It didn’t seem like it was fine last night when you had to swallow a bunch of pain pills because it was hurting. Connor, don’t you see what you’re doing to yourself?” You can feel your face heating up, and you’re trying so hard to keep your shit together but— “You have to allow your body to rest. If you keep up with this, you won’t get better—”
“That’s not an option, Liv, and you know it,” he hissed back, now looking more distressed than guilty. “This is my life. And I did allow myself to rest, I spent four weeks doing absolutely nothing, just like the doctor asked me to.”
“He said six to eight weeks, Connor,” you sigh, tired, not actually believing you’re having this conversation with him. “Please. Just think about how I feel when I know you’re not well enough to be here yet you still are.”
He pressed his lips together, placing his stick on the floor next to him and moving his helmet around his hands.
“Liv, you know I love you but this— Hockey is what I am. It’s what I do. You have to understand—”
“And I have done nothing but understand you!” You shout, finally losing your cool and snapping at him, your loud voice echoing through the empty arena’s walls. Connor takes a step back, but now you’ve already started and you won’t can’t stop. “Ever since we met, I have been nothing but understanding. I stood by your side at all times, even when what you were doing wasn’t healthy for you!”
“Olivia—”
“I went to sleep alone and cried more nights than you could ever imagine,” your voice cracks, and your stubborn tears are already rolling down your face. “I still supported you no matter what. I cooked your meals, I packed your bags, I went to those ridiculous gala dinners and I did it all with pleasure because I love you and you’re supposed to do these types of things for the people you love!”
“Baby—”
“So you don’t get to stand in front of me and ask me to understand how badly you treat yourself and how you don’t care about anything else besides Hockey when I gave up everything to be with you!” You try to wipe your face, stepping back when Connor tries to reach you. He frowns when you flinch. “I gave up my freedom because I wanted to be with you and God knows I’d do it all over again because I fucking love you.”
“Baby, I know all of this and I’m grateful, I really am but—”
You let out a wet chuckle, shaking your head. “There’s always a but with you.”
“Hockey is important to me, baby.”
“And I am not.”
The silence after your words is cruel, and it tears you apart, scratching your skin and making your insides hurt. His blue eyes, your favorite color to ever exist, are also filled with tears and you hate to see it. You hate to feel bad about saying these things.
The thing about loving someone is that the thread between giving up yourself for them and giving yourself to them is really thin.
You love Connor Bedard. Have loved him for years now. He makes you happy, he listens to you, he’s your best friend.
“You know that’s not true, Liv,” he gets closer, the sound of his skates hitting the ice making you want to puke. “You know you’re more important to me than any of this. You know I love you.”
“No, Connor, I don’t,” you whisper, smiling even when all you feel is pain. “I can’t do this. I won’t watch you d-destroy yourself and not do anything.”
He removes his gloves quickly and grabs your wrist, cold fingers holding your arm down. “Olivia, wait.”
“No,” You shake your head. “I need time. Sorry.”
You don’t look at his face as you leave the arena, and you certainly don’t listen to his voice shouting your name, over and over again.
ᯓᡣ𐭩
i don't know what to do
i’m stuck in a loop, stuck in a loop
ᯓᡣ𐭩
HE WATCHES you talking to the children from afar.
You’re sitting on the floor, and it’s so obvious you’re better different from everyone else at the party. The children surround you like you’re their favorite princess or superhero, all of them wanting a little bit of your attention.
Connor feels like he should be offended, since those kids were there to see his team in the first place. It was some kind of reunion Foligno arranged with the media team, inviting some of his son’s friends and some other children with less opportunities.
But he isn’t. First of all, he’s thankful because if it weren’t for your charm, he would be the one having to deal with the children, something he wasn’t very fond of. Sure, he likes kids and he’s happy they like him, but if he could avoid social interactions, he would.
Besides that, watching you happy is something that he had missed, and he feels like shit for it. He knows he hasn’t been a good boyfriend, and he knows he should do better. Ever since that one night at the rink, you haven’t been the same.
But if he thinks about it too much, he realizes that you haven’t been yourself for a long time now.
And it hurts.
It hurts because he doesn’t know what to do. He loves you, the very first girl he fell in love with, but he also loves Hockey. As a young player in the NHL, he feels like he constantly needs to prove himself to others, and since people give him so much attention, he needs to keep on being a good player.
He doesn’t know how to balance things, how not to spend hours and hours without end on the ice, muting all of his doubts and worries while he keeps throwing the puck in the net.
You smile at a little boy who’s now handing you a flower, and Connor smiles as he watches you ask the little boy to put it on your hair, laughing when the other kids stop their babbling to clap at your newest look.
You make eye contact with him, and he feels himself getting devastated when he notices that the shine in your eyes lessened a little when you looked at him.
ᯓᡣ𐭩
(why do you hate me?)
i could never hate you, despite the words that you've been sayin'
i’ve been having breakthroughs
and hoping you were proud, just maybe
anxiety drives me insane, and my newest addiction is pain
i know i said it was a ‘phase’
five years later, still stuck in my brain
ᯓᡣ𐭩
CLOSING THE front door with a sigh, you let your first sob out. The tears won’t stop, and you don’t bother to wipe them, it would be pointless.
All you want to do is slide down to the floor and stay there, letting the hardwood hurt your back and get you dirty, but you can’t. Your car decided to break in the middle of the road on your way back from college, and you had to walk until you found the nearest telephone to call your insurance company, which would’ve been fine if it weren’t for the terrible storm going on, the water drops penetrating your thin shirt like you weren’t even wearing anything in the first place.
It’s just one of those days where everything that could possibly go wrong goes wrong, but you’re already so fed up with life lately that this all seems too much.
“Liv? What happened, baby?”
You lift your head up faster than you should've, because now you can see tiny, black dots floating around in your vision. You weren’t expecting to see Connor at your house, much less wearing the apron you gave him when he prepared his first dish by himself two years ago— a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
“Connor,” you whisper, not looking him in the eye. “I didn’t know you were here.”
“I texted you,” he says, removing the apron that read “cook it yourself, cunt”. “What happened, baby? Are you hurt?”
You don’t say anything, mostly because you’re certain that if you let one little word slip past your lips you’ll start crying uncontrollably once again, so you just shake your head and leave your things on the floor beside you, walking past him so you could get to your room.
He’s quick to follow, though, watching as you remove your wet clothes and get in the shower, both of you silent and lost in your own thoughts.
Not talking to Connor about your feelings feels weird, but you can’t help but feel like you’re holding him back. It’s sickening, because all you want is to stay with him and be happy, but sometimes loving is also letting go.
You get out of the shower, feeling the tears coming back when you spot the change of clothes Connor left for you on top of the toilet lid— his shirt, his pants, your favorite panties.
He knows you too well. He knows who you are as a person and he knows who you want to become. He knows your fears and your ambitions, he knows your dreams and hopes. He knows what you stand for and what you absolutely despise.
He knows you.
You change, and leave the bathroom quickly, wanting nothing more than to lay down and sleep for days.
“Some lady from your insurance company just called, saying your car will be ready next week,” Connor says, and only then you noticed he’d been standing next to your wardrobe the entire time, crossed arms in front of his chest. “Why didn’t you tell me your car was broken?”
You shrug. “I knew you were at practice. Didn’t want to bother you.”
“So you walked home? In the rain?” You can tell by his tone that he’s upset, but there’s nothing much you can do.
“I mean, what did you want me to do?” You scoff. “My phone died and I had no cash on me. And honestly, we both know that you would never leave the ice for something like this.”
“Liv, you know that’s not true,” he whispers, getting closer to you. “You know that I’d leave at any moment if I even knew you needed me.”
“Whatever,” you mumble before reaching for your phone in your bag, the device thankfully still dry, and put it to charge, removing the hundreds of pillows you have on top of your bed and throwing them on the carpet floor, already visualizing the amazing sleep you’d have.
“What are you doing?” You feel his hands on your back, his body closer to yours than it’s been in a while. “You haven’t had dinner yet. I cooked…”
His sad tone makes you break again, and you hate yourself for it. But you still love him so much, and it hurts to see what you’ve become.
“Liv, please, tell me what’s wrong,” he pleads, turning you around and wiping your tears with his thumbs. “I’ll fix it, I promise. Just tell me what’s wrong, baby.”
“Can you fix us?” You whisper, resting your head against his chest, inhaling his comforting scent. He smells like home and the winter. “Can you fix what we’ve become?”
He’s quiet for a while, long fingers caressing your hair, like he used to do back when you had started dating.
“I’m trying, I swear I am,” he whispers back, and you can finally hear genuineness in his voice. “You’re everything to me, baby, and I won’t lose you.”
“I’m not asking you to give up on Hockey,” you explain, watching as your tears stain his shirt. “I’m just asking you to take care of yourself. Connor, I need you to take care of yourself.”
“I know, baby, and I’m sorry,” he kisses your cheek, the first time his lips touch you in more than two weeks. “I’m so sorry.”
You listen to his heartbeat and sigh, choosing not to say anything. You know the only way you can find out if he’s being genuine or not is with time, because only it will tell if you’re fixable or not.
But as you let yourself sleep close to his body that night, losing yourself between the sheets and his arms, you can finally breathe again.
Because he said he’ll try, and Connor Bedard always tries his hardest with everything.

Contrary to popular belief, Gotham isn't a complete eyesore.
Sure, it's no vacation spot, and it's probably not the ideal place to settle down. But there are beautiful parts within the grunge.
Your wedding planner had shown you multiple locations, from Napa to the Bahamas. Bruce had insisted cost was no problem.
But that wasn't what made you choose Gotham.
Your forearms rest on the polished stone-top railing that surrounds the rooftop of the nicest hotel in the city. Thirty-two floors, all rented out for you.
You look down at the tiny cars and people below. Your heart swoops.
Your heels are in one hand. The sun crests the horizon; soon, yellow will melt into buttery orange and pink. It’s the first sunset you knew. The only sunset you know. And it’s the same one you saw the first time you met your almost-husband.
You'd come up here so you wouldn't miss it. Just this one time.
“Found her!”
You jump as the roof access door opens. Damian and Duke walk out. Duke gives you a warm smile.
"Jesus, you guys," you say, hand on your chest. “Way to scare a girl.”
“Sorry. You look really nice,” Duke says, smoothing his bowtie.
Damian crosses his arms, clearly unimpressed.
“Frightening you is the least of our concerns. We thought you’d run. Which would be understandable, considering the family you’re marrying into, but Father spent a lot renting the hotel. Plus, Grayson would’ve been inconsolable, and extremely annoying.”
“Dude,” Duke says, elbowing Damian. “Chill out. It’s not like she was actually going to leave him at the altar.” He squints at you. “Were you?”
“No! I wasn’t going to leave him at the altar, oh my God.”
Damian nods. “Good." He taps his watch and speaks into it. "Grayson, our work is done. Come to the roof.”
Duke gives you a wave and they wordlessly leave the way they came. You sigh and start to slip your heels back on. There’s some whispering at the bottom of the stairs, and Damian shouts “no!” before it’s silent.
You have one heel on when Dick emerges.
He’s unfairly handsome in his tux, hair somehow both neat and tousled. He also has what looks to be Damian’s tie wrapped around his eyes. You step out of your heel, unsure.
"Hey, sweetheart," he says, sounding genuinely apologetic. "Sorry about that. Didn't mean to scare you."
"It’s okay, baby. Why are you blindfolded?"
"Bad luck to see the bride, duh."
You can't help your idiotic grin at that. "I think it'll be fine, Gray. You didn’t have to take his tie.”
"Maybe you haven't met my family; we're not known for our good luck streaks.”
"I'm madly in love with you,” you say, feeling gooey.
Dick beams, and you nearly forget about the sunset altogether.
"I'm madly in love with you too."
You kiss him and he blindly returns it, following your lips even after you step back. You cluck your tongue and nudge him away. He obeys, though not without sliding his hand onto your waist and tugging you away from the roof. You follow because he's such a worrier.
Dick reaches for your hand and squeezes.
"You okay?" he asks.
"Yeah. Sorry I disappeared. I didn’t know the calvary would be sent after me.”
“Yeah, uh…” Dick rubs the back of his neck. “Sorry about that. Again. I got worried.”
The guilt sinks its claws deeper. You frown and touch his cheek.
“I would never leave you at the altar, Dick.”
“I know! I know that. They’re idiots; don’t listen to ‘em, whatever they said."
You cup his face with both hands and kiss him again. He squeezes your wrists and you can feel the relief rolling off him in waves, as much as he tries to hide it.
“Was my absence noticeable?” you ask.
"Just to us. Don’t worry about it. The Wayne family are professional crowd entertainers."
"I take it Bruce is doing card tricks?"
"Yep,” Dick says. “He’s pretty good too. Might retire the suit."
You laugh. "Sorry I'm missing it."
"Trust me, you'll get your fill soon."
“We can go down now,” you offer, even though you’re still waiting for that sunset.
He shakes his head. “There’s no rush.”
You smile and rest your head on Dick's shoulder. He accepts you instantly and wraps his arm around your waist.
"You feel really beautiful," he says.
"Charmer."
"I'm serious!"
"I know. That's why I'm so damn sweet on you, Gray."
"I've got a shot with you, then?" he asks.
"Oh, big time."
He nuzzles your neck. You breathe in his scent: wine from earlier, detergent, the hair gel he uses to effortlessly capture the bed head look.
"We didn't have to do this today, you know,” he says, voice vibrating through you.
You pick your head up in alarm.
"What're you talking about?"
"If-if you're getting cold feet, I mean," he adds. "Second thoughts. We can always reschedule."
"Dick, no, I'm not getting second thoughts. I want to marry you today. I will marry you, okay? We've been together for almost four years."
"So? You know how long Batman and Catwoman have been skirting around each other? We've all got a wager going. Including Alfred!"
You snort. "Okay, well, excuse me if I don't want your family to bet on how long it's going to take us to marry."
"Afraid that ship's sailed."
"Of course it has."
You wrap your arms around his neck and pull him in. His arms drape over your hips. You trace the shape of his lips with your index, up his Cupid's bow and up the tip of his nose. Dick has such a lovely nose. You've always thought so.
“So who bet that I’d actually made a run for it?”
“That feels like a trick question,” he says.
“Jason?"
“Jason adores you, actually. He didn’t doubt your loyalty once.”
“Damian had his doubts."
“Damian's thirteen, he doesn’t know shit.”
You snort and kiss his cheek. “Well, I forgive him. He was protecting you, that’s all.”
"If it helps, everyone else was certain of your loyalty," Dick says, letting you paw at his face. “Myself included.”
"That does help, actually.”
Dick stops your hand in its journey and rests your palm on his cheek.
"What were you thinking about?" he asks quietly.
You stiffen a little. "Nothing. Just needed some air."
"You sure?"
You know what he's doing: feeling your pulse to see if it changes, listening to your breathing, watching if your shoulders tense. He's a detective first, and a damn good one.
You slump in defeat.
"What if I'm not… good at this? At being… us?”
"What?" Dick asks in disbelief. "What are you talking about? Of course you’ll be good at it. The real worry is me, babe. I mean, you're incredible. I'm the one who runs around in spandex at night."
"Gray, I'm serious," you say, resting your head on his heart. "All those people who’ve been watching us, waiting for the future Mrs. Grayson to slip up. I just—I can't help but wonder if it's prophetic. I wonder if maybe you deserve more."
"Hey. Now I can't predict the future. But even if I could, I don't believe there is a timeline out there where I could ever want or need anyone but you. And you're not alone in this, you know? I'm scared too. I'm terrified I'm putting you in danger. Of fucking up completely. But I also know that sometimes… we get good things, you know? It's not all doom and gloom. I mean, you being in my life is proof of that."
God, he always knows how to make your heart ache just right.
"I really want us to work," you whisper, clutching his suit coat. "I just don't wanna let you down, Gray."
"Baby," Dick says, curling around you. "Sweetheart, where did this come from? What makes you think that? You've never let me down, not once. I love you. It's okay if you feel like you don't know what you're doing, 'cause I don't know either."
You reach to untie the tie. Dick lightly grabs your hand, but you continue to tug anyway.
"Wait, babe—"
"Dick, it's okay. I want to see your eyes. Please?"
He lets you pull it off. He squints at the light, adjusting. Then his gaze drops to you and his lips part.
"Wow," Dick says, hands sliding up your arms.
You smile. "Like it? Selina helped me pick the dress, so it's all thanks to her."
"Fuck, baby. I wanna marry you right now. Screw everyone down there. Let's elope."
You laugh, combing back his hair with your fingertips and tucking loose strands behind his ears.
"Gray, you know we can't do that. What about Bruce? He'd be devastated and more than rightfully pissed."
He shrugs. "So what? I'm the favorite, I can get away with it."
"Well, what about Alfred? You'd break his heart."
Dick pauses, mulling that over. You kiss his chin.
"Damn it," he says. "You're right. I couldn't do that to him. He's arguably more excited about our wedding than we are."
"Mmhm. But I appreciate your attempt to be spontaneously romantic," you say, smiling.
Dick tugs you closer still, rubbing your back.
"I would elope," he says. "If you really wanted to. You could convince me to do just about anything. Even if it unleashed Alfie's wrath."
"Don't tell me that," you chide playfully. "You'll give a girl all sorts of notions."
"Oh, I'm counting on it."
Dick starts to kiss up your neck and you happily let him, eyes slipping closed. It's good, until—
THUMP!
You jump. Dick immediately pushes you behind him.
The roof access door swings out so hard it slams against the wall. Jason glares, bowtie already loosened.
"Are you fucking kidding me? You're gonna miss your own wedding, dumbass!" He nods at you. "Hey, future sis. Looking good."
"Thanks, Todd."
"Mm. Everything okay?"
You smile. "Everything's wonderful."
"Yeah, I'm okay too, thanks," Dick says, scowling.
"I know you're fine, idiot. Now come put a ring on it before Alfred hunts you down himself."
Jason turns on his heel, shaking his head. "Responsible one, my ass…"
You look at Dick, grinning.
"Seems like we should go do the marriage thing," you say.
"Seems like." He squeezes your hip. "Do you feel better?"
"Yeah, Gray. I do. Thanks. I love you."
"Love you too, baby. Let's go marry the hell out of each other."
The sunset has morphed into a violet night. But you don't mind that you missed it; you know there will be countless sunsets to come.

“I’m gonna kill him.” Miles declared a little too calmly for Y/N’s liking. He looked for his shoes so he could get out of there.
Her heart had finally slowed enough to process what had just happened, the adrenaline wearing off.
Y/N worked the graveyard shift at a gas station a couple of blocks from her apartment complex. She had to save up for school and it rarely got busy that late. It wasn’t a bad deal.
She emptied out the register, but before taking out the trash, she texted Miles to see how far he was.
He always walked her home from work, however today she felt especially tired and Miles wasn’t answering his phone and it was barely a 10-minute walk to her apartment.
What she hadn’t expected was for someone to try and grab her on the way home, Miles had shown up at the exact right time to scare him off.
“Miles,” She called softly, using her voice to beg him to look at her. After a moment's hesitation, he finally looked over at her curled up at the edge of her bed.
He was so angry he was shaking. He snapped at Y/N on the way to her apartment he wasn’t mad at her but he needed someone to be mad at.
“Can you please come sit down?” She patted the spot on the bed beside her. He continued to pace around her room as if he were looking for something.
“Miles,” she begged again.
“I have to do something,”
“Just sit down,” The shakiness in her voice seemed to get him to listen. She grabbed the hand closest to her and held it tightly in her own, before leaning into his side.
She inhaled deeply, relaxing into his warmth and earthy scent.
“Don’t go, won’t change anything,”
“What would’ve happened if I wasn’t there?”
“But you were,” She reminded him.
“You could’ve been killed or worse.” He said. “And you want me to just do nothing?”
“I don’t want you to leave,” She countered. “Need you to stay with me,”
“I’m so sorry I was late,” He kissed her hand. Miles rarely apologized even when he absolutely should so she knew he meant it.
“Not your fault baby,” She mumbled into his shoulder to which he huffed incredulously. “I mean it.”
Instead of corroborating his innocence, he shed light on his thoughts.
“I keep thinking about you dying and it’s all because I didn’t get to you fast enough.” He sighed. “I can’t lose you too.”
Ever since his father's passing Miles had some pretty big shoes to fill. Head of the house, the son of a late police captain, but never just a kid.
Sucking in a breath Y/N immediately shifted her body to grab Miles’ face. She pressed his ear over her heart letting him listen to the continuous thump.
“I’m alive,” She whispered for only him to hear. “I’m right here.”
He twisted himself to hide his face in her chest and wrap his arms tightly around her waist, she ran her hands over the hair at the back of his head humming a song. Miles spoke up never moving his face “I’m supposed to be the one comforting you,”
With a smile never stilling her hand movements she responded. “You don’t have to be a big macho man all the time you know?”
He finally released her with a small dismissive yeah. She pushed herself off the edge of her bed with a groan, bending backward to stretch her back. Miles leaned back on his elbows to watch her.
She made her way over to her dresser before he sat up and then spoke up. “Where you going?”
“I wanna take a shower,” She answered grabbing a plain cotton shirt and some underwear. “I feel dirty,”
He seemed content with her answer and leaned back on his elbows again. “Will you come with me?”
He raised his eyebrow suggestively before she laughed and threw the shirt at him.
“Not like that,” She clarified “You’ll just sit there. I don’t wanna be alone.”
He nodded grabbing the shirt off his chest before following her to the bathroom.
The stuffy humid air surrounded Miles as he sat patiently on her toilet seat.
“You still here?” You called over the running water.
“Yeah babe, still here.”
“Can you talk to me?”
“What’you want me to say?”
“I dunno,” She shrugged despite the fact he couldn’t see her behind the shower curtain. “Just tell me about your day,”
He told her about how in AP BIO they did fetal pig dissections and he got to cut into the brain. By the end of his spiel, she was listening to the creaky twisting of the knob to turn the water off. After asking for the towel she was making him turn around so she could get dressed shushing him before he could make an offhand comment.
He followed her back to her room pulling her comforter back so she could slip in. The second she hit the cool sheets her eyes fluttered shut, sleep dragging her down. He tucked her in, and before he moved to grab her bonnet she gripped his arm keeping him still.
“Don’t go home”
“I won’t, I’m just gonna grab your bonnet, swear,”
“Mhm,” She agreed, releasing his arm and curling in on herself.
He slipped into the bed next to her wrapping his arms around her and pulling her back into his chest. She let out a hum of discomfort before turning to face him, her eyes still shut.
Miles stayed still watching her until her breathing evened out and her body relaxed. Shuffling onto his side to reach into his pocket he pulled his phone out pausing when she stirred at the noise.
Opening the messages app he swiped on his uncle's contact texting him
Some white guy in Bushwick green civic and skull neck tattoo. Call me when you find him.
Shutting his phone off with a click he readjusted himself.
Y/N could say whatever she wanted he was going to kill that man.

Just wanna be in your arms.
Pairings: Nanami Kento x fem!reader
Synopsis: Coming back home from work all day to be in your arms makes it worth the exhaustion. All Fluff, angst if you squint.
Wc: 846
ೃ࿔₊notes: today drained me, writing this after doing all my work made me happy.
You were wrapped up in your favorite blanket while watching a film you decided to watch for entertainment. You then paused the the film with a sigh, eyes glancing towards the clock that was hanging on the wall that you can hear it ticking louder than usual—it was nearly midnight.
Oddly enough, your beloved boyfriend still wasn’t home, even when he was always strict and punctual when it came to leaving work. This has been going on for a few days every week, and you can’t blame yourself for the feeling of uncertainty growing in your gut.
Just as you were about to start overthinking again, the front door creaked. Your head snapping back to see a worn-out Kento who was muttering to himself in annoyance while taking his shoes off and placing them to the side before collapsing on the couch face first next to you.
You blink down at him, a bit unsure how to approach his slumped figure. “Rough day?” You decide to ask softly, hands still keeping them to yourself on your lap while watching him intently. “Hah, you have no idea.” He huffed against the cushions, hands then loosening the necktie because lifting his face tiredly.
“I had to cover for this slacker coworker of mine today.” He groaned from exhaustion. “It wasn’t even just a few hours before of overtime. The bastard left me hanging ‘till eleven thirty.”
“Poor baby.” You offer him a small smile, he immediately looks at you, and it just feels like the tension of his shoulders dropped when you started caressing his cheek.
“I didn’t even greet you properly.” He rasped with a frown, and his concern to that only made you smile even more. “Hello, sweetheart.” He whispered with a small tired smile
“Hi, Honey.” You whisper back, drawing your arms closer to embrace him and he immediately melts, face buried into your neck. “God, the thought of going back to work tomorrow is not a pleasant thought.” He murmured quietly against your skin, followed by a soft exhale when you start running your fingers through his hair, slowly massaging his scalp.
He lifts his head after a few moments, looking at you with gentle eyes “you know,” he started lazily, “I appreciate you sticking around with me, even when i barely give you any of my attention these days.”
And now you’re confused, of course you would stay with him. You would give him everything and anything he wanted. You would wait a hundred years just for him.
“I don’t know what I would’ve done if i had come back to an empty house.” You feel your heart squeeze at his words, but you want to lighten up the situation. So you playfully yet lightly give his cheeks a pinch.
“Mmhm, ‘s not bad coming home to someone waiting for you, no?”
“It isn’t, is it?” He smiled, returning your grin. “I don’t know,” he continued, “I think I’ve gotten used to coming back to an empty, quiet house. It’s not like I ever had anyone waiting for me before, anyway.”
“And now you won’t ever have to come back to an empty house, Ken.” You reassure him, and he believes you, listens to you. He’d be damned to ever let go of someone as precious as you.
“Are you cold?” You then ask to check up on him since tonight was slightly chillier than usual, but he shakes his head in return.
“Are you?” He asks this time, and you nod. “Just a bit.”
“Here,” he pulls you impossibly closer until your arms were encircling around him. “Let me share my heat with you.”
You smile against his shoulder, trying to hide how your heart raced quicker at the closeness. “Is that your excuse to just have me in your arms?” You murmur and he laughs quietly, “no… and yes?” He tightened his grip around you before yawning in relief.
“I missed our little evening chats,” he added.
“Hm, me too.” You respond back, “missed the days where you wouldn’t overwork.”
“I’m sorry, love.” And he frowns again, her words bringing a twinge of regret.
“You don’t need to apologize, Ken.”
“You never deserved a busy, tired guy like me—” This time, you shut him up with your lips. Your soft lips giving his a chaste kiss. He’s dumbfounded, staring at you in amusement.
“Please don’t ever think of yourself that low. I love you, and that won’t ever change because of your job.” You told him in a firm tone yet in a gentle approach.
“Thank you.” He says, his thumb tracing circles around your waist, and you chuckle. “For what?”
“For loving me for who i am, even when I’m at my best or worst. I love you, dearest.” He whispers close to your lips, and you roll your eyes playfully at him before giggling.
“I should quit my job.” He suggests and you raise your eyebrow. You would support him nonetheless, especially when it’s making him this tired.
“Will you?”
“Yeah, I should marry you too.”

ahhh congratulations on 15k!!! you deserve every last one <33
for the event could i maybe ask for uncle ukai?? whatever you think up for him, i just need some keishin content pretty pls
Thank you so so much sweet pumPKINNNN AND ofc ofc ofc keiSHIN BELOVEDDD
tw incest, breeding/pregnancy mentions, unhealthy behaviour
You still love staying over to enjoy the edges of Miyagi city, and your mom always drilled that outside air was good for growing kids. So when grandma’s house became Keishin’s house, it was only natural that most of your summers would be spent here. It was fun when you were a kid, but you think it’s even more fun now that you’re old enough to understand him- to appreciate his sacrifices for the family.
You think it’s more fun now you’re able to see that helping out in the store is a good reason to keep you a little closer to him than he’s willing to admit. You never really minded it, to be honest. You always got along with Keishin before, and the older you’ve both gotten, the easier it has seemingly become.
You wrap your arms around your knee as you sit on the edge of the porch and hang one of your legs to dangle. You watch how he holds the cigarette between his fingers, taking impatient drags before the smoke leaves his lips - and his low voice rumbles through the bit of silence the garden allows, spreading out over the acres of fields surrounding you both. When he hangs up the phone to -presumably Tatsu-san who’s been keeping tabs on the store all week- his gray eyes find you and his drag of air becomes slower, before he blows the cloud over his shoulder.
“I told you to stay inside, didn’t I?” His slight annoyance at the sight doesn’t stay long enough to convince either of you, before he stomps the butt of the cig out under his lazy, plastic flip flops and walks up as he slides the phone into his pocket. “Come to watch me, did’ya?” When he stops before you, you smile just a little, and you swing your foot left and right before looking up.
“I got lonely, and your TV is shit. There’s nothing else to do but people watch.” As soon as you say it his frown gets deeper, before he grabs your cheek to squeeze.
It’s only by the way his gaze softens right back up when he releases you, you know he doesn’t take any of it to heart. “Brat.” He bends to lean in, and your mouth finds his much too comfortably— letting his tongue push our lips open and meet his own, and the kiss is only made deeper when his coarse, work-damaged hand wraps around you neck to pull you closer. When he pulls back you whine, but still can’t help scrunching up your nose.
“You really stink of tobacco, Keishin,” you whine, so he frowns as he sits down. His blond head of hair’s hidden by a baseball cap, but you reach up to pull free a few strands anyway, and tug it gently between your knuckles. “Didn’t you say you’d make an effort to stop.”
“If you would’ve stayed inside you wouldn’t have known whether I had or hadn’t.” His mouth curls into a slight grin, before he wraps one hand around your lifted wrists, and squeezes the other one behind your leg to rest it on your belly. He makes a slow appreciative circle there, and then goes to lean back into you. He does smell like tobacco, but he also smells like him, a little rough and sweaty and so familiar— and you never really minded having him close like this. His mouth’s soft against yours, even when his slight bit of stubble isn’t.
“I’ll definitely stop before the baby comes,” he then whispers into your mouth, and you find yourself agreeing wordlessly to pull him closer and let him start positioning you onto his lap. Tugging until you’re seated on his muscular thighs and his heat fills you up top to bottom where your lips connect. You should really stop watching him before the baby comes, too. Hands start groping your thighs and ass as he pulls you close, and your kisses travel to his jaw and ear and down his throat.
“Uncle Keishin~” You find yourself rolling your hips even before he makes you, and your pussy already feels like it’s aching for more, coating your panties in slick. “Show me again. Show me again how to make a baby? Please?”
“Ever since I put one in you, you’ve been relentless, huh. We went twice just this morning.” His breathy laugh against your collarbone does nothing to quell the need in your lower half. He dips a hand under your shirt to brush over your stomach again, before softly grunting out your name and pushing the fabric up. “Well, guess we might as well make use of the peace before yer mom finds out. Wanna be filled with more of my kids, huh?”
Your pussy clenches around nothing as answer, and the porch is filled with the sound of your moans and clothes being pulled off. It’s so nice and peaceful at the edges of Miyagi. Too bad you can’t stay hidden away here forever.

8. Did I Lose You?
Paige Bueckers x Azzi Fudd
Warnings: None that I know of but please let me know!
Summary: In which happily ever after isn't today
A/N: nothing to say but I love you, besties <3
Azzi is a liar, a thief, and a coward. A lethal combination that swims deeply with the basketball player. She doesn’t mean to be these things. Azzi doesn’t want to be these things but she is. It’s a sad truth that only the brown-eyed girl carries the burden of knowing. It only adds that she can call herself these things in the name of Paige.
Azzi is a liar; has been since November. A lie escaped her lips every time she told Riley that she was happy. The basketball player knew that the relationship wouldn’t survive when everything the other did was compared to Paige. It’s disrespectful, Azzi knows. Riley listened to, supported, and gave Azzi everything she could’ve asked for in a partner. Even when she would’ve had every right to, Riley didn’t push. But, Paige did. She pushed every button the younger girl had. If getting under Azzi’s skin was a sport, then Paige was the MVP. Maybe it was her signature smirk or the confidence she has in everything she does. It’s maddening and addicting but it’s all Azzi craves at the end of the day.
Azzi is a coward as a result of her lies. It’s with those lies that she stays in a relationship with Riley longer than she should have. The same lies that bury her friend in guilt. The same relationship that caused Azzi to walk out when asked if she had feelings for the blonde-haired girl in front of her. Her lies resulted in a truth being hidden. A truth that would’ve prevented the tears and heartbreak that the two girls had to endure. The truth being that Azzi is absolutely, without a doubt, unconditionally in love with Paige. That love though, is also something the younger girl cowers from because it scares her. She’s terrified of her emotions and Paige’s. The intense emotions roll off the blonde in waves; and sometimes it’s just a bit much for Azzi. She’s never been one to face her fears.
Azzi is a thief because in the end, her cowardness and lies didn’t stop her from taking bits and pieces of Paige all the same.
-
Azzi swallows nervously. The apartment is familiar to the eye, yet somehow she feels like a guest as she stands awkwardly in the kitchen. Everything is exactly in the place as she knows it to be except he’s here. Cameron is standing in her kitchen, watching her while Paige gets Azzi water from the fridge. He’s the one that’s opening her door when she’s too busy to do so. He’s the one occupying her space as if it’s his own.
It throws Azzi off kilter because these are things she used to do. Her teammates were used to seeing the curly-haired girl on the other side of the door when they came over. She used to roam around the kitchen and admire the blonde in front of her.
Now someone else was doing it and that made Azzi want to scream.
The younger girl was only at the apartment to discuss the kiss from last night. It seems as if she had no choice in the matter as there was a litany of demanding text messages waiting for her when she woke up. So, after carefully agreeing to a time, here she was.
Azzi watches as the football player places a kiss on Paige’s hair before whispering something in her ear. Paige nods her head in response before she watches as Cam leaves the apartment. When the door shuts, the older girl turns to her best friend; ready to talk.
“You said I’m what you want.” Paige stated. It was a direct way to start a long overdue conversation.
“You are”
“What changed?” Azzi watched as Paige leaned back on the counter and crossed her arms. She could tell that the blonde had her guard up and it broke her heart.
“I realized how much I missed you.”
“You missing me doesn’t mean much. You missed me while you were dating Riley and you didn’t want me then.” Paige snarks. It’s a valid point.
“I know, but I missed you. I miss waking up and having your hair in my face, or your vanilla perfume on my sheets. I miss being able to hold you and kiss you. Fuck, Paige, I miss talking to you.” Azzi pleads. It softens the blonde’s resolve for a short second but then it doesn’t.
“I understand that you miss me. I miss you too but do you want me?” Paige asks. Her voice is soft and without malice. She only wants to understand what this means for them now.
“I want you everyday, in this life and the next.” The curly-haired girl answers truthfully.
“When?” Paige starts. “When did you know?”
“I’ve known since November.” Azzi confesses. She watches as her favorite pair of blue eyes widen with shock and then narrow with anger. The blonde shakes her head and scoffs in disbelief. “So when you texted me and asked me to come over, you had feelings for me? Paige grits out.
“Yes,” Azzi starts. “But I was scared and I was already in a relationship. Everything just got messy.”
Everything was messy. She wasn’t wrong.
“Az, I just don’t understand why you continued in a relationship knowing you had feelings for me. Why did you walk out of my apartment that day?” Paige asks. Her voice is low but tired.
“I was scared,” The brown-eyed girl admits nervously before she’s rambling. Then, she’s repeating everything that she confessed to Riley in the club bathroom. Azzi talks about how Paige looks at her with such intensity, it terrifies her. She shared how sometimes it can be too much and how she worries about not being enough.
She talks and talks and Paige just listens. The blonde takes in every word that spills out of the brown-eyed girl's mouth, until silence settles between them. The two continue to stare at each other, both trying to read expressions on the other’s face. Both of them failed miserably.
“Say something.” she demands.
“I understand that you were scared. Hell, I was scared.” Paige laughs, “That much, we could have worked passed because in the end, being with you was enough. But instead, you slept with me while you had a girlfriend.”
“Please, Paige! I was scared!’ Azzi begged. She was terrified of loving Paige. She was terrified of Paige loving her. “Riley wasn’t intense. Being with her was easy.”
“It isn’t about Riley, Azzi '' Paige explains. “It’s about you! I could understand you being scared. I was fucking terrifed of loving you. But you being scared of loving me didn’t stop you from taking parts of me.”
“Paige-”
“I understand that you were scared. I promise, I do, but it didn’t stop you from holding me, kissing me, fucking me. It didn’t stop you from-”
For once, Azzi is the one cutting her off. “I know but I’m not scared anymore.” She doesn’t know she’s crying until Paige reaches up to wipe a tear away.
“But I am. I’m scared of you breaking my heart.” It comes out in a whisper but Azzi hears every word.
“Please just trust me.” The shorter girl pleads. She grabs Paige’s hand that wiped the tears from her face.
They’re both crying in the kitchen. Slow tears cascade down both of their faces as they drown in each other’s love; simultaneously healing and breaking each other’s hearts. It shouldn’t be this hard for them, but they’ve been messy. It’ll take a while to clean up the damage left in their wake.
Today Paige’s wounds are fresh and her emotions are heightened. Today, there’s still so much left to talk through and resolve.
Today, Azzi is still scared of what their feelings mean and what they could be to each other.
Today isn’t their day and Paige knows this. So as much as it pains her, she breaks both of their hearts with one sentence.
“I trust you with my life, just not with my heart.”
-
Paige is selfish, hypocritical, and cowardly.
Paige is selfish because she takes what she wants without any regard to others. She did that twice actually. The blonde didn’t have to spend the night with Azzi but she did. Paige did it knowing she had a girlfriend. She did it knowing that her actions had the potential to hurt someone else. Doing it in the name of love is simply a sad excuse and she knows it.
Paige is a hypocrite because she flirted with her best friend while her girlfriend was in the other room. She got upset that Azzi had the audacity to wear the volleyball’s player shirt in her home but walked right by the girl after spending the night with her. She’s the one with the audacity. She’s the one that’s disrespectful. Paige was being truthful though, she feels guilty about it all the time.
Paige is a coward because she, like Azzi, is scared, but the blonde was the last to walk away from what could have been her future. She left because she was scared of Azzi loving her.

Hi!💖 You write for uchiha brothers or only sasuke? Can I ask for itachi please?
𝒜𝓊𝓉𝒽ℴ𝓇𝓈 𝓃ℴ𝓉ℯ:Hii! Tysm for requesting🫶🏻 no! I’ll write for pretty much any character as long as it’s a character from Naruto (but my favorites are indeed the uchiha brothers). For itachi I just chose this random prompt as you didn’t specify I hope you like it!
ੈ✧̣̇˳·˖✶ ✦ . . ˚ . ★⋆ . ˚ . ★⋆. ࿐࿔
❝Should we do it again?❞
༄𝒻ℯ𝒶𝓉𝓊𝓇𝒾𝓃𝑔: Akatsuki!Itachi x Shinobi!Reader
༄𝒯𝒲/𝒞𝒲: 18+ MDNI, female!Reader, smut, p in v sex, unprotected sex, fingering, itachi is kind of obsessed with reader 😋
The first time you saw Itachi, it was a flash of darkness on a mission—his presence like a shadow that loomed over you. His gaze had met yours, cold and unwavering, and in that moment, you knew there was something more between you, even if you didn’t fully understand it. You’d quickly retreated, heart pounding, a mix of fear and something else pulsing beneath your skin mixed with a feeling of guilt. Since then, the encounters had been brief, each leaving you with an unsettling pull that made you freaky out each time.
Then came the note.
It had been tucked into your mission supplies, folded precisely—too precisely, in a way that told you it was from him. Eastern woods. Midnight. No explanation, no signature, just the certainty that you were expected. You had to go. Something in you made it impossible to ignore, but at the same time you knew how wrong it was. You were a shinobi after all.
The night was quiet when you arrived, moonlight filtering through the trees in pale streaks. Itachi stood in the clearing, his figure unmistakable in his Akatsuki cloak, the red clouds stark against the black. His eyes met yours, dark and penetrating, making your heart race in a way you couldn’t explain. You knew this was wrong, you knew very well but something about him just made you so weak, making the undeniable heat cursing through you even worse.
“You came,” he said, his voice low and calm, like he’d been expecting this all along. Itachi didn’t even doubt you’ll come, in fact he knew it. He had this thoroughly planned, even that you come to him. He has watched you countless times, studied you and the way you behave, the people you surround yourself with. Ever since you first crossed paths on a mission, he’s been obsessed.
“I didn’t have much choice,” you said, trying to sound more composed and professional than you felt. Even though you felt guilty, you knew that you’re betraying your village, breaking your villages trust in you but you just couldn’t stop yourself, even if you wanted to. You were still nervous tho, each step forward a little harder to take as the air around you grew thick with tension.
He took a slow step toward you, with his tall figure coming closer, the world seemed to narrow to just the two of you. “You could leave,” he murmured, his voice barely more than a whisper, “But you won’t.”
Your breath caught at the closeness of his words, the way his presence seemed to envelop you. You couldn’t tear your eyes away from him. There was a dangerous intimacy in his gaze, something that pulled at every part of you, making you question everything you thought you knew, everything you’ve done so far. You would’ve just went home normally if something didn’t seem right, but itachi was correct you wouldn’t leave.
“You never could,” he continued, his gaze trailing over you with an intensity that sent a thrill down your spine. Walking towards you the tension in the air grew even further, but not just in the air.
His voice was barely audible now, the heat of his proximity so overwhelming it made your head spin. You wanted to pull away, but at the same time, you wanted to lean in, to close the distance.
“You’re here because you wanted to be,” he said softly, stepping just a bit closer, until you could feel the heat radiating off him. Suddenly two hands were placed on your hips, slowly but steadily roaming around your body carefully, groping your ass and tits, gaining a satisfied look from itachi.
The world felt smaller with every passing second, your pulse echoing in your ears as you stood there, unable to ignore the heat pooling inside of you, the slight hitch in her breath betraying her calm demeanor. He was a risk. You both knew that. But the way he was touching you made you want more, more of him and itachi couldn’t deny that he didn’t like the way this was turning.
Moving his hands up from your waist to the back of your head, as he pushed you closer. Your lips met in a clash of heat and desperation, his kiss was demanding, teeth grazing her lower lip before his tongue delved deeper, tasting and claiming you in a way that made your knees weaken. He pulled you even closer completely closing the space between you, you could feel itachis rock hard cock against your lower abdomen , making you even more needy.
Without warning you felt a hand swiftly making its way down your skirt into your soaked panties, starting to rub circles on your clit. You moan into the kiss, before breaking it, resting your forehead on his shoulder, trying not to be loud and to contain yourself but that doesn’t work. His swift movements
“Please itachi.. stop teasing” you cry out, desperate for him to finally fill you. He didn’t even say anything back, he just slipped a finger into your throbbing cunt, earning a satisfied moan from you making his hard cock Twitch in his pants.
Your hands made their way up looping around itachis neck searching for support as he ruthlessly pumps his fingers into your cunt, feeling the knot in your stomach tighten making you bite your lips. You couldn’t even think straight anymore his long lean fingers being the only thing in your mind.
“Itachi.. im close” you breathily whined out into his shoulder, as he suddenly pulled out his fingers the sudden feeling of emptiness making you whine in desperation. Itachi swiftly shifted, pushing you until you felt the bark of your tree against your back. “Turn around” he said in his usual calm demeanor but with a hint of longing in his voice. You did as he said and turned around, when abruptly two hands reached for your hips pulling on them making you arch your back.
You were just about to turn your head around to see what he was doing, when you felt Itachi pulling up your skirt, taking your pantie out of his way & lining his tip up with your throbbing pussy. It made you even more excited but suddenly the guilt you felt just a few minutes ago came back. But it only lasted so long until itachi started bullying his dick into you, making him groan in satisfaction. The feeling of your tight warm walls clenching around his dick made him loose his mind.
Actually everything about you made him loose his mind, how you moaned out his name and how tight you were, in his eyes you were perfect, usually itachi wasn’t the type to come after just a few minutes but the way your walls where clenching around his shaft already made him be so close. But you loved it too, his thick cock poking against that perfect spot with each of his thrusts, the soft groans he let out sometimes it all made the knot in your stomach explode ultimately.
With your legs shaking and hands harshly gripping the tree for support you came on itachis dick with a long loud moan. “Good girl” he said eyes closed in pleasure, as a low groan escaped his throat as the sensation crested, with one last thrust a powerful release coursing through his body that left him breathless. You could feel his dick pulsating inside of you coating your gummy walls with his cum, another satisfied groan escaping his parted lips as he rode out his high with a few last sloppy thrusts.
“should we do it again?”

Doubt
Summary: We all know how it went last time Steve fell in love, well everyone except Y/N, hence why she had no issue confessing her feelings to her boyfriend. But Steve’s anxiety has a habit of getting the best of him.
Warnings: angst/relationship doubts/fluff/cussing
Word Count: 852
*NOT MY GIF*
“This is fucking insane,” Steve muttered as the two of you took your shift of watching Max for a portion of the night.
You shook your head, “Poor Max. I can’t imagine how scared she must be. If we weren’t here, who knows-”
“But we are here,” Steve reassured you, squeezing your hand in his.
You exchanged small smiles as you laid your head on his shoulder. The two of you sitting in the comfortable silence as you looked over all the sleeping kids.
“Steve?” you whispered.
“Yeah?” his voice low.
You let out a soft sigh, “I love you.”
Even if your head hadn’t been on his shoulder, you would be able to feel how tense Steve became at your words. And when another moment passed and he hadn’t said anything back, your heart sank to your stomach.
“I-I,” you struggled to figure out what to say next, “I’m sorry.” Before he could stop you, you were halfway up the basement stairs.
Steve tried to call out for you, causing some of the kids to stir a bit which made him quiet back down. He wanted to punch himself in the face for his reaction. He knew how he felt, why couldn’t he just say it?
You found yourself seated on the front porch of the Wheelers’ house, small tears streaming down your face as you tried your best to cry quietly.
“Y/N?” you looked up and saw a very tired Robin with a blanket wrapped around her.
You quickly attempted to wipe away your tears, “Oh, hey, Robin,” you gave her a half-hearted smile, “I’m sorry, did I wake you?”
“Nah,” she shook her head as she took a seat next to you, “Dustin’s snoring,” a small chuckle leaving both of you, “What’re you doing out here? And why’re you crying?”
You let out a shaky sigh, “I told Steve I loved him.”
“Oh,” she exclaimed before a smile spread across her lips, “It’s about time, really. I was wondering when one of you would finally just use the “L” word-”
“He didn’t say it back,” you cut her off, “You should’ve seen the look on his face, Robin. You would’ve thought I told him I was cursed too.” The tears built in your eyes again, “I thought he felt the same way. I thought he loved me. But I was wrong. God, I feel like such an idiot.”
“Hey,” she strung her arm around you, “You are not an idiot. Steve might be though. He does love you, Y/N. I know he does.”
“Then why couldn’t he say it back?” you cried softly.
Robin sighed, “Y/N, how much did you know about Nancy and Steve’s relationship?”
“What?” you were so confused, “Only a bit. I just knew they dated for a few months before they broke up and she got together with Jonathan.”
“That’s the short version anyway,” Robin explained, “What drove their breakup and sort of pushed Jonathan and Nancy together was something a bit deeper.”
“What happened?”
“Nancy didn’t love Steve. In some drunken stupor she basically told him that their whole relationship was bullshit and that them being in love was bullshit too,” your heart broke for Steve, knowing exactly how he must’ve felt, “The next day or something when Nancy was sober, Steve asked her if she loved him, and Nancy didn’t say it back. Then some time later, she ends up with Jonathan and you know that those two are definitely in love. Bottom line is, I think Steve is just scared that if he tells you that he loves you, you’ll end up thinking it’s all bullshit too.”
You let out a heavy sigh, “I could never think that, Robin. I’ve never felt this way about anyone, you know that.”
“Me neither,” a voice came from around the corner, Steve appearing in front of you and Robin.
She looked between the two of you, “Well, I think I should head back to bed,” she gave your shoulder a squeeze and a small smile before heading back into the house.
“I’m so sorry,” he muttered.
“Steve, you don’t have to-”
“No, Y/N,” he cut you off, “Robin’s right, I’m a complete dingus. The only reason I couldn’t say it back was because I was terrified. Terrified that it was too good to be true. Terrified that the minute I told you how I felt, you’d leave. And if I lost you, Steve choked back sobs, “I-I wouldn’t know what to do with myself. I couldn’t risk that.”
You brought your hand to his stubbled cheek, pulling his teary gaze to you, “I’m not going anywhere, Steve. I promise you.”
Steve didn’t hesitate to pull your lips together, he had never felt safer than he did in your touch. Tears of relief leaving his eyes as he pulled away, resting his forehead against yours.
“I’m so sorry. I love you, Y/N. I love you. God, I love you so much,” Steve uttered and repeated like a prayer.
You nodded, laughing with relief as the tears dried, “I love you, Steve.”

︿︿︿︿︿︿ ✎ᝰ . . . .
Mizu stared blankly at the wall on the other side of the room from your shared bed, wishing that her mind could be half as empty as her expression.
She sighed deeply and turned her head to look to you— your bare back turned to her, skin almost glistening in the moonlight emitting from the window as your form rose and fell with slow and steady breaths. A far cry from your condition before the both of you had left for London.
She reached over and tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear, her finger brushing against the scar on your cheek. She almost smiled at the memory of how it got there— accidentally slicing your cheek while teaching you to duel with a sword. It was your bad in her defense; you just had to use those stupid beautiful eyes on her.
Sighing, she shifted her focus back to the wooden walls of the ship, and tried to push the images of you on the brink of death from her mind.
The two of you had finally caught up with Fowler, but you’d split up and ending up getting wounded badly by the man before she’d found the both of you. As if she didn’t have enough of a reason to hate him.
Bruised ribs, a concussion, and a stab wound from an arrow of your own crafting through your stomach were not a fun combination to experience. So she’d been told by you, at least.
She wished she’d just been cruel enough to leave you behind. Let you freeze to death or get eaten by wolves, so she didn’t have to feel this guilt over having the only person she gives a shit about get wounded for the sake of her revenge trip.
Love was a death trap.
You’d have thought after Mikio, that would’ve been jammed through her damn skull. But then she met you.
The only thing that gave her a reason to make it out of the other side of this mission.
Maybe she should send you on the next boat back to Japan. Yeah; once they landed in London, she’d do anything she had to in order to get you back home and away from her.
A soft grunt pulled her from her head, slowly turning her head towards you as you turned your head back and hummed.
“Hey,” She whispers through the dark, squinting as you started turning to face her while laying on your right side. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.”
“You didn’t,” You rasped, eyes still closed as you reached out for her and hugged her forearm to your chest. “I felt like you weren’t here and got worried.” You grumbled against her arm, letting out a nearly blissful sigh.
She falls silent, the guilt for even thinking— fathoming the thought to leave you behind started to gnaw at her now.
She calls your name softly, causing you to hum through your sleepiness curiously.
“I…” She swallows, throat bobbing. “I love you.”
You respond, with zero hesitation. She always believed she was an impossible to love; she was an Onryō, a demon, a godforsaken woman who had been cursed to live a life her on this miserable world…
“I love you too.” You smile against her arm, “So much.”
And you loved her like it was breathing.
She couldn’t leave you behind.
She watches you slip under the heavenly covers of sleep with a smile on your lips before ripping her gaze away from you again.
“Shit.”

Goretober Day 16: Crying
Thanks @nonsenseafterdark for the list!
TWs: None, surprisingly.
Ghost finds Roach in a compromised emotional state. He empathizes.
Words: 681
Pairing: GhostRoach
~~~
Ocean wind blew in from the rocky coast, thick with the stench of brine and seaweed, carrying sand that abraded everything in sight. It eroded the little town west of Manchester Ghost and Roach mistakenly chose to spend their leave visiting. Not a surface in sight was free from its weathering touch: statues found their details eaten by time, cement walls and walkways chewed up into crumbling aggregate, even Roach’s cheeks wore red from its force. And Ghost knew it wasn’t sunburn. No, not lick of sunshine came all week. Judging by the anvil cloud looming over the Irish Sea, the second week wouldn’t be any better.
Ghost sat up in his king bed of their hotel room. Indulging in a little voyeurism he watched his Sergeant outside drape over the balcony. Roach’s bed, furthest from the sliding glass door, lay messy after he’d been tossing and turning all night. Some selfish part of Ghost wondered if he’d sleep better if they shared the bed. If Ghost could hold him. Cuddle and coddle him.
Weary, the Lieutenant rubbed his face, stubble catching his calloused hands. He needed a glass of water to wash the taste of sleep from his mouth. Roach might appreciate one, too. With two paper cups now full of lukewarm tap water, since their overpriced room had no mini-fridge and the ice machine was broken, he stepped outside to join his sulking friend.
Roach jumped but said nothing.
Ghost set a cup on the rail beside him, fingers hovering to ensure it wouldn’t blow over, and sipped his own. He waited to be addressed, gut instinct whispering that some situations don’t require words to resolve.
Roach hugged himself. He shuttered in the dropping autumn temperatures—scratch that; his shoulders shook and his chest heaved breaths that smoked out into the abyss. They rose and dissipated as if they never existed. Meanwhile, very real tears dripped from his scruffy chin towards the streetlights below.
Ghost thought it started raining at first. He’d never known Roach to cry.
“Fuck,” his Sergeant whispered. “Sorry to wake you.”
“Wasn’t sleeping well, anyway. Too quiet.”
Roach let out a single half-hearted laugh. He sniffed viscous snot back up his nose as he said, “That’s the whole reason you suggested we get out here.”
“I can’t think of the right expression. Only thing coming to mind is ‘don’t meet your heroes,’ if that makes any sense.”
He hummed. “You’re tired. Go back to bed.”
“Seems like you need some company.”
“I don’t want you to see me like this.”
Ghost sighed, waffling his arm before deciding to rest a hand on Roach’s shoulder. “Drink some water then come back to bed with me. We’ll turn off the lamp and I won’t be able to.”
“I can’t. I’ve been having nightmares,” Roach confided. He made no effort to shrug off the comfort. “What if Shepherd actually killed us? What if Price hadn’t warned us in time? We were about to march right into his bloody trap. What if I watched him put a bullet through your head? Simon, I can’t bear the thought of losing you.”
Ghost was no stranger to nightmares. To preemptive grief brought on by what-ifs. He had no advice because if he knew how to fix it they wouldn’t be waking him up on vacation, only to find his Sergeant up and dealing with the same issue.
He slid his hand flat across Roach’s back until his arm stretched around the man, pulling him close. “I’ve got you. I’m here. It didn’t happen.”
“It was so close! Who knows what would’ve happened, I mean—!”
Ghost cut him off with a kiss. When Roach reciprocated, turning to rest a hand on Ghost’s peck, the Lieutenant moved his hand to the back of Roach’s neck. It was sweet. All lips and no tongue. Spurred on by love rather than lust.
“I said I’ve got you,” Ghost repeated. “I’m here with you, right now, and we’re both alive. Let’s make the most of it, yeah? Come in to bed and let me hold you.”
I should hate you
Pairing: Melissa Schemmenti x Reader
Warning: soft lesbians,
Pt.1 Pt.2 Pt.3 Pt.4 Pt.5
Melissa never went home that night no, she couldn’t she wouldn’t not when you had been seated in the crowd watching her. Anna the daughter she never met beforehand right next to you smiling confused, did she know her mother was getting married or was it some old friend of her mums?.
She had ignored the signs long enough hoping they would go away but she knew deep in her heart that leaving you wasn’t right. That she really only dated Gary to try heal her self inflicted wounds because she wasn’t getting younger.
Seven years was a long time
Seven years of being haunted by your ghost, the question if you had the child and clearly you had she couldn’t be more proud of you. It took her a week before returning home, home? Nothing was home without you she found.
She packed Garys things leaving them on the front lawn for him to collect before she called Liam asking for your address. Hopefully it wasn’t too late to make amends.
When she pulled into your driveway there you sat on the front doorstep, book and cigarette in hand soaking in the spring weather. She refused to move slowly drunk off the view of you, it made her question why she ever left in the first place.
Her hands gripped the steering wheel tighter as she took a deep breath working the courage to even face you. “Mama!” Anna screamed excitedly as she ran up the drive Liam not far behind, you looked up smiling brightly first you saw Melissa before you focused on your daughter.
Anna ran into your open arms happily after you put your cigarette out, this.. this moment right here Melissa could of had all along. Liam kissed your temple whispering something in your ear while taking Anna gently from you.
Melissa took this time to get out of the car meeting you in the middle of your front lawn, a sight to see in your pink floral embroidered dress. An angel she convinced herself “hey” you smiled gazing at the woman “hey” Melissa swallowed awkwardly.
“What brings you here?” Your eyes gentle as you rested a hand on her crossed arm “I hope it’s not too late” she whispered. “Too late for what Mel?” Too late for what? “An us” Melissa sighed quietly “I regretted too late and I know that, I regretted that day as soon as I got in my car but I was too proud to admit I was wrong”.
“Maybe it’s not too late” you shrugged “maybe it was just the time” Melissa looked up confused “you ever heard if you love them let them go?”. She never knew a voice to sound more soft, she would save that word to describe you soft you were, angelic.
“Well I let you go not long after you left, I held onto hope but I knew your return was scarce but if you love them let them go, if they return it was meant to be”
Meant to be
Meant to be was all Melissa caught “you should hate me?” She stated more so confused “I should hate you” there was an agreement in your eyes. “I should but I love you more, the life I lead I wouldn’t have without you, Anna… I have her because of you”
“Melissa I have loved you longer than I had you, longer than I have loved one before” you sighed gently “I wished you didn’t get married the first time, that you would’ve ran and grabbed my hand but it wasn’t the time. Then the same the second time how I wished you would leave and you did, honey you didn’t marry him”
“But I didn’t marry you either?”
“It wasn’t the time”
“Is now the time?”
Melissa had moved closer so close you could feel her warmth breath pan against your face, she had uncrossed her arms a hand coming to cup your jaw.
“You move quickly” you laughed against her lips ignoring the way Liam cheered with your daughter as Melissa pulled you closer.
Right Place and Time
Eddie x Chronically ill fem reader (Requested)
Summary: Fate was kind to you that day. After another one of your fainting episodes, you wake up to see none other than Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson waiting by your side. After hearing how he came to your rescue in your time of need, you two begin spending lots of time together. (Fluff and Angst. Descriptions of fainting.)
Inbox is still open for requests :)
———
Eddie sat outside the principal’s office, swinging his leg over the bench as he awaited his turn for punishment. A process he had become familiar with over the years. It was a lot of the same every time. The principal would read the referral, express how ‘deeply disappointed’ he was in Eddie then offset his scolding by telling him what a ‘promising young man’ he was before undoubtedly sentencing him to detention. Just a few steps down the hall, you rummaged through your locker in search of a due assignment.
“I did it! I know it’s here!” You whispered to yourself as you frantically shuffled through a mess of papers. Eddie watched, amused by your struggle. It provided some much needed entertainment during his otherwise boring wait. “Shit!” You hissed, dropping a book flat on the ground. You dipped down to collect it but must’ve stood up too fast. Eddie noticed the subtle sway upon your standing. He saw you grip your locker door to steady yourself.
“Hey! You okay?” Eddie sat up in his seat. Something was wrong, that was obvious.
“I’m ju-just feeling a little dizzy.” You couldn’t see the man asking but he immediately rushed to your side, hearing the shakiness in your voice. In an instant, you were gone.
“Oh shit!” Eddie quickly pulled you into him as your legs gave way. With arms around you, he dropped to the floor, his knees taking the brunt of the fall. You were completely unconscious, the back of your head resting against Eddie’s stomach while the upper portion of your body laid in his lap. “C’mon, wake up, wake up!” He tapped your cheek with his ringed hand hoping to coax you back to consciousness but to no avail. He lightly touched his fingers to your neck, relieved to feel the steady beat of your heart. With no clue what had happened or what to do his eyes searched desperately for someone, anyone who could help. Everyone else was in class, no one was coming. Eddie didn’t want to waste another second. “Alright. C’mon.” He whispered despite you not being able to hear him. He slid one arm under your legs, another behind your head to carry your limp body. “I’m gonna get you some help.”
———
You blinked harshly at the fluorescents as you came to. You sat up slowly, taking in your surroundings. You were laid up in the nurse’s office.
“Nice to see you again, miss l/n” She joked. This wasn’t your first time being here and it wouldn’t be your last.
“How long was I out this time?” You groaned, still feeling groggy.
“About 7 minutes I’d say. But Mr. Munson here brought you in with record time.” She gave Eddie an admirable nod before leaving to write you out an excuse. He could’ve left. The nurse assured him you would be okay but instead he waited. He was still a little shaken up by the incident but was relieved to see you awake. You rubbed your eyes to see Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson sitting across the room.
“It’s alive!” His hands shot above his head. The chain around his wrist jingled with the motion. You looked at him almost in disbelief. You two had never even talked. You always found Eddie sort of intimidating with his edgy style of dress, macabre interest and startling behavior (climbing on tables, screaming at other students for a laugh, ect.) You squinted at the man in confusion.
“Wh-what happened? How’d I get here?”
“Well, uh…you completely checked out. I saved you from going splat then I carried you here.” His brown eyes peered up at the ceiling as he recounted the incident.
“…oh.” That was the only word you could manage. Of all people to come to your rescue, Eddie Munson would’ve been one of the last people you’d expect.
“So…you wanna tell me what happened or…?” Eddie was genuine in his concern. You looked so vulnerable lying in his arms. He worried for you.
“POTS.” You replied simply.
“Pot?!” Eddie’s brows shot sky high. He had partook in the green MANY times and never passed out like that.
“No, no!” You giggled. “POTS. It’s a medical condition. Causes me to faint.”
“Oooh POTS.” He nodded. The nods quickly shifted to a shake from left to right. “I have no idea what that is. Buuut maybe you could tell me more about it…pretty, fainting girl.” Eddie’s dimples deepened into a charming smile.
———
That afternoon, Eddie walked you home. Your books tucked under his arm like a gentleman while you explained your condition. He frowned upon hearing the frequency of your fainting episodes, his puppy dog eyes peering down at you.
“It is what it is.” You shrugged. You weren’t the type to feel sorry for yourself. This was the only life you had ever known. Maybe things weren’t ideal but you were still grateful to be alive. Little moments like this reminded you of that fact. The midday sun illuminated Eddie’s features perfectly. You never really noticed how beautiful he truly was.
“I think I know what you need.” His lips curled at the corners, eyes still locked on you.
“Oh yea? What’s that?”
“You need a bodyguard. Y’know, someone to keep close just incase you conk out. It just so happens I make a pretty good landing pad.” His proposition wasn’t subtle in the least which you actually found strangely attractive.
“How are your knees?” You scrunched your face feeling guilty for what had happened.
“Oh they’re definitely bruised, but it’s fine. Small price to pay to save a damsel in distress.” You rolled your eyes playfully.
“My hero.” You clasped your hands over your heart which made Eddie laugh. “Your services as a bodyguard might actually be helpful, but how will you know when I need you?”
“I won’t. I’ll just have to follow you everywhere you go.”
“Deal.”
And just like that, you and Eddie became inseparable. He walked you from class to class. Saved you a seat at lunch everyday and even drove you home after school. He learned your triggers as well as little ways to manage your condition like keeping salty snacks in his van for you or reminding you not to stay stationary for too long. It was always the plan to spend as much time with you as possible. Acting as your service dog provided endless opportunities for Eddie to get to know the girl behind the beautiful face as well as show he wasn’t the polarizing person the students of Hawkins painted him to be. You quickly came to realize he wasn’t scary at all. He was funny, gentle. Even charming. After each an every episode, you awoke to Eddie stroking your hair, tucking pieces behind your ear as you laid across his lap. His deep, warm eyes welcoming you back to reality with a smile. He became your biggest source of comfort. Just as Eddie had hoped, you became a couple before too long. The Freak and the Fainter his Hellfire friends called you which you found amusing.
You often accompanied Eddie to his D&D nights, playing mediator between the captivated party and the merciless dungeon master.
“Oh my God, we’re fucked.” Dustin panicked. Eddie had just released a zombie hoard upon his friends. All of which were low on HP. “We are so FUCKED!” He screeched.
“Maybe not! We just need to strategize!” Lucas feigned hopefulness while Eddie chuckled darkly at their dismay.
“Gentlemen, I would have to agree with Henderson here in saying….you’re totally fucked. You fought valiantly but let’s not delay the inevitable.”
“Eddie, come on. Aren’t you the least bit interested in seeing what they can come up with? You gotta give them a chance!” Your eyes pleaded with him while you rested your hand on his knee. He was such a sucker for you. Eddie was wrapped around your finger and you knew it. His dungeon master persona began to falter. Jeff mouthed a grateful ‘thank you’ from across the table.
“Fine. You’ve got three minute. Devise your plan, then it’s judgment day.” He turned over a small hourglass. The sand trickled down grain by grain.
“Where’s my notebook? WHERES MY GODDAMN NOTEBOOK!? I NEED TO WRITE THIS STUFF DOWN!” Dustin yelled. Time was of the essence. You were invested at this point.
“There’s some in the supply closet!” You rushed there and immediately began scanning the shelves for the extra pads of paper. You spotted them on the top shelf. You stretched your arms high but they were just out of reach. The party was huddled, speaking in whispers while Eddie watched them arrogantly. You felt the pressure on you when you glanced at the hourglass. Just a little further, you thought. You stood on your tip toes and craned as tall as you could. Your fingers were finally able to graze the corner of a notepad but then it hit you. Overcome with a dizzy sensation, your vision blurred. Your head felt heavy and your knees weak. Eddie was so caught up in watching his friends scramble for options, he hadn’t even noticed you were having an episode. A loud thud followed by the crashing of supplies struck everyone’s attention, all turning their heads to the closet.
“NoNoNoNoNo!” Eddie practically jumped out of his chair to get to you. You were out cold, a small cut bleeding on your forehead. “Shit, I’m so sorry, Y/N.” He scooped you up in his arms and brought you out to where everyone else stood and waited.
“She must’ve fainted again.” Mike deduced.
“Yea, no shit, Wheeler.” Eddie snapped. “I didn’t think! I wasn’t thinking that she- Oh man, I messed up!” Eddie dabbed at your cut with his sleeve. He cradled you while rocking back and forth as he waited for the moment to pass. The minutes felt like hours. The party members were scared. They had never seen Eddie so shaken up before. “Its been almost 15 minutes! She’s never out this long, man!” Guilt was consuming Eddie while he looked at your unconscious form. He should’ve been there to catch you. What if something is terribly wrong this time and it’s all his fault?
“What should we do!?” Mike questioned frantically.
“Call an ambulance! We gotta get here somewhere! She’s not okay! This isn’t okay!” Eddie’s voice was broken. He held back tears. He was scared. Gareth ran to a phone and called the emergency line.
“Our friend, she-she passed out! She’s not waking up!” Eddie bit his lips harshly as he listened to Garett on the phone.
“Please, Y/N. Please wake up.” Eddie pulled you tightly to his chest and rested his chin on your head. Everyone watched the two of you, rocking back and forth on the floor. A small twitch animated your left hand which otherwise hung limp from your body.
“Eddie! I think she’s waking up!” Dustin pointed to your hand. Eddie noticed the motion and started tapping at your cheeks.
“C’mon, Sweetheart. You gotta get up. Wake up for me, please?” Your hand lifted to rest against Eddie’s chest.
“Wh-what-” You pried your eyes open to see Eddie’s tearful face hovering above you. “Passed out?” You weakly question. Gareth informed the person on the phone you were waking up, the ambulance wouldn’t be necessary.
“Yea…you passed out big time.” Eddie exhaled a small chuckle. “I didn’t catch you…I wasn’t there.” He was so remorseful. He half expected you to be disappointed in him for not being there when you needed him most. You blinked, swimming in your own aching head. A smile crept to your face.
“Better luck next time.”
Eddie put the remainder of his campaign on hold. You joked with the boys that you were proving them the ultimate distraction so they could escape Eddie’s clutches. They just didn’t utilize it properly. You were so tired after all that, you could barely stand. You wrapped your arms around Eddie’s neck while he carried to his van. He grabbed a bandaid from the glove compartment for your head, applying it with the upmost care.
“Does it hurt?”
“Stings.” You winced. Eddie placed a bottle of water in your hands and a kiss to your cheek.
“Let’s get you home.”
He carried you up the stairs bridal style. Once in your room he pulled back the cream colored comforter on your bed and helped you slide beneath its warmth.
“Did I scare you?” You asked, your voice small and exhausted.
“That was terrifying.” Eddie laughed. He had finally calmed down from the ordeal and was able to smile again. He pulled the blanket over you, tucking it snugly along your sides. “I thought I fucked up big time. I was scared you weren’t gonna wake up.”
“Eddie…it’s gonna happen again. As much as you might want to, you can’t be there every time it happens. Nor do I expect you to.” You touched your finger tips to his cheek. “It’s okay.” Eddie grabbed your hand, pressing a small kiss along the back of it. “Will you stay? I kinda don’t feel like being alone.” It wasn’t a question the even needed to be answered. Eddie kicked off his shoes and laid down next to you over the blankets. You smiled at his perfect face, just inches away from yours. Eddie kissed you softly amid the light’s warm, yellow glow. Your eyes grew heavier with each slow blink. Eddie played with your hair as you drifted off. Maybe he couldn’t be with you all the time, but he’d be there whenever you wanted him.
